East Chaldon (cottages 207, 410, 419 & 426) A charming hamlet with a village green and many thatched properties including a well known pub nestling in its own valley with a stream. Footpaths lead to the Jurrassic Coast Path, only 45 minutes walk away.
Hyde (cottage 503): A hamlet set in the open countryside of the lovely rural Piddle Valley. Wareham Forest’s foot/cycle paths and heaths are on the doorstep. EastDorset GolfCourse is nearby and welcomes non-members on the course and at its bar and restaurant.
West Burton (cottage 245): A clusterof buildings: an old farmhouse, farm buildings,barns, sm all nursery, kennels, wildlife haven and large pond in open countryside downanunmade lane almost a quarter of a mile from the Wareham/Dorchester road.
West Lulworth (cottages 381, 434 & 506): A popular, large,pretty village with many touristfacilities and paths leading to coastal walks and down to the Cove (see opposite).
Winfrith Newburgh (cottages 101, 102, 104, 110, 205, 208, 229, 258, 261, 262 ,266, 311, 315, 331, 352, 431, 432): A picturesque village with a stream, manylarge trees, village shop andfine Norman church with traditional clock chimes and bells. Offshoots of well markedvillage trails lead to achoice of three pubs each about a mile away.
Wool (cottage 387 & 429): A large village with a station, good selection of shops, 2 pubs, quaint cottages in the old centre and easy access to the coast at Lulworth Cove. (See opposite). |
