A Dorset Coastal Cottage self catering holiday is all about the great outdoors. All of our Dorset holiday cottages are within 10 miles of the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Naturally our coastal location is also ideal for a variety of Watersports.
Dorset is a wonderful county for cycling and rather better than the neighbouring counties of Devon and Cornwall which are very hilly: Dorset's landscape is more rolling traditional farmland down to the spectacular Jurassic Coast with plenty of country pubs to provide refreshment. Obviously you may prefer to bring your bikes from home but if this is not possible there are various hire options. You can also come on holiday by train with your bikes as the Waterloo to Weymouth lines serves the county well and has provision for cycles to be transported properly.
Dorset is also a superb county in which to go horse-riding and there are various stables located near to many Dorset Coastal Cottages. Riding along the National Trust beach at Studland is a particular pleasure, especially in the quiet months and there are several of our high quality self-catering cottages nearby.
The South of England, and in particular the West Country provides an excellent range of golf courses. Dorset is no exception and golfers will find golf courses that are both challenging and spectacular ranging from cliff top to rolling downs. Coastal Dorset has a special attraction as the golf courses are often close to the world-renowned Jurassic Coast.
