Kingston Maurward Christmas Fair 

Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in Dorset, this annual event boasts over 40 stalls offering a fantastic range of quality merchandise. Specialist food stalls (including David Farquhar’s smoked salmon and hams), jewellery, garden tools and presents galore for every member of the family. Enjoy delicious coffee or tea and a great selection of muffins, cakes, shortbreads and cookies in the cafe or a festive lunch served in the Coach House. Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 3pm. Admission £4.

Enjoy some Christmas shopping in the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings of Upton House with a wonderful selection of local handmade crafts. 10am  – 4.30pm on both days. Entry Fee £1. Children and car parking free!

Christmas Fair at Athelhampton

A new Christmas food fair showcasing more than 40 Dorset-based producers who will be displaying their goods and plenty of items that can be bought for Christmas time or as presents. There will also be a demonstration kitchen running throughout the day showcasing the county’s best chefs. 11am – 5pm. Free Entry.

Wild Christmas Wonderland

Dates: 23rd/24th November + 7th + 14th – 23rd December (10am – 6pm with last entry 4pm)

Christmas 2013 will see more festive fun at Adventure Wonderland. The massive indoor adventure play centre is transformed into a spectacular Winter Wonderland with all the fun and excitement of this magical time of year. The whole place goes winter wild with masses of Christmas decorations, festive fare and everything that makes for a wonderful treat for all the family. See prices and book online to visit Father Christmas with his faithful reindeer and helpful elves direct from the North Pole. They’ll all be waiting in their log cabin with fantastic presents for all of the children!

Swanage Railway Santa Specials

Santa will visit you at your seat to give out presents to all children on board during the one hour return journey. In addition, Santa’s helpers will serve drinks and biscuits to children and mince pies and seasonal refreshments to adults. Also there will be on-board entertainers to amuse you during the journey.

Santa Specials run on November 30th, December1st7th8th14th15th21st,22nd23rd & 24th.

Santa Specials depart from Swanage at 10:30am12:05pm1:40pm & 3:15pm.

We strongly recommend you aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before your train departs in order to find a parking place. The nearest public car park for Swanage station is a 15 minute walk away. Visit Swanage Railway website for a full list of fares and to book.

Brownsea Island Christmas Walks

Escape the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season and enjoy some peace and quiet amidst the busy preparations for Christmas. This is your opportunity to visit the island when it’s normally closed and experience the breathtaking tranquillity of the winter wildlife.There’s the option to bring a winter picnic along and stay until the 2.15pm boat. After your walk enjoy some light refreshments of mulled wine and mince pies, with time to visit the unique shop to purchase some last minute gifts. £12 includes light refreshments, boat ride and winter walk. Love a Local Christmas with Sherborne’s Festive Shopping Day

The historic town of Sherborne will light up for Christmas from 10-4pm, offering a great family day out and also raising funds for The Friends of the Yeatman Hospital and Help for Heroes. There will be plenty of fun for children too, including the annual shop window competition. Santa will be taking up residence in his Post Office Grotto where every little person receives a gift from him. The highlight of the day will be a magnificent illuminated lantern procession along Cheap Street before Santa turns on hundreds of Christmas lights on the tree at The Conduit around 4.15pm.
