Easter chicks at Kingston Maurward

Join in Kingston Maurward’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, searching for clues around the animal park, or visit with the Easter chicks and bunnies and all the other farmyard friends – sheep, goats, alpacas, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks and more. 8000 Cadbury’s Cream Eggs will be found by lucky visitors to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens this Good Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Easter Monday. It’s the biggest Easter Hunt in Dorset –  other prizes include four giant chocolate eggs, four large cuddly bunnies, and 20 medium sized eggs. Extra fun for children is supplied by a bouncy castle, an entertainer and a face painter. The children’s entertainment is all free, although normal admission to the Garden’s applies.Full information here

The Medieval Archery Academy brings the past to life with archery sessions and an authentic medieval encampment in the grounds of Corfe Castle. It takes place over the weekend 26-27 April and is a great way to get the kids imagination going. Full info here

Hire a beach hut for the day

Did you know you can rent a beach hut for the day? The kids will love it and if the weather takes a turn for the worst, you can still spend a day at the beach. Beach huts come with all sorts of accessories – gas stoves, sun loungers, chairs, tables, crockery cultery – so its easy to embrace beach hut life. You can even rent one for a sleepover! Prices range from £15 per day to £40 for overnight stays. Weekly rentals are also available. More details here
