The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
This year there are many well organised firework displays around Dorset, with many featuring music and other attractions to keep all the family entertained for the whole evening.
We would advise guests who wish to enjoy fireworks to attend an organised event, as there are many thatched cottages that adorn our beautiful county, and a stray firework could lead to disaster. So be safe and enjoy one of the many well organised events:

Join the crowds of people who come to watch the fireworks over the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ – Lyme Bay – and stay warm by the bonfire on the beach. Sherborne Castle, New Road, Sherborne, Dorset, DT9 5NR. The Firework Extravaganza at Sherborne Castle is one of the most spectacular fireworks displays to be found. On November 3rd, Sherborne Castle hosts entertainments, live music, fairground rides and lots of refreshments and food from 5pm. The bonfire is lit at 7pm and the fireworks start at 7:30pm. It is illegal to let fireworks off in the street or a public place. You should only let fireworks off on private land such as your garden or on land where you have the landowner’s permission. It is UKFR’s understanding this means it is also illegal to let fireworks off on the beach (not to mention having the potential for fireworks to be mistaken for distress flares).
Note: Prices are a guide only and may change without notice.
