Dorset Coastal Cottages is a Jurassic Coast Trust Business Partner and is proud to support the great work they do. The Trust preserves the beaches, scenery, heritage, geology and outstanding natural beauty of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

The Jurassic Coast Trust also brings many events along the Dorset Coast throughout the year which are great for all the family. Some of these are the Dinosaur Footprint walks.

Dinosaur Footprints

Dinosaur TracksHidden away in Purbeck, within a stone’s throw of the Jurassic Coast, is Keates Quarry. This working quarry contains one of Dorset’s best kept secrets – an incredible set of dinosaur footprints, made by Jurassic giants 145 million years ago.

Expert volunteer “Ambassadors” lead gentle, leisurely walks to the quarry throughout the year. These walks are suitable for all ages and nearly all abilities. Starting at the famous Square and Compass pub in Worth Matravers, the whole walk to the quarry and back is wrapped up within two hours.

Jeremy took his son to “Walk in the Footsteps of Dinosaurs” and you can read about it in his blog.

This year, Purbeck Ice Cream have used some of the proceeds from their Jurassic Range to sponsor free of charge children’s places on all Dinosaur Footprints walks.
