Relaxing Sunday Afternoon in Kimmeridge.
Kate, our Customer Services Manager, had an impromptu family gathering last Sunday. They decided a trip to Kimmeridge was in order and some food to keep everyone happy, Kate continues:
“Great a family get together but what do we do there were seven of us, including two children! Food always a good idea to keep everyone happy. So decision time….Clavell’s Restaurant in Kimmeridge is somewhere that we had not been to, could they fit us in?”
Clavell’s Restaurant is situated in the picturesque village of Kimmeridge on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset just a mile inland from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
“Phew! a last minute lunch booking was made so off we went. All of us were able to enjoy the delicious food at this laid back family café. The majority of the food is prepared on site using locally sourced Dorset produce and ingredients. The glorious weather made it ideal for sitting outside the café enabling us to enjoy dishes from the wide range on offer – from Seafood Platters, sumptuous Roast Beef and Lamb Moussaka to by naughty (but very nice) desserts such as Eton Mess and Lemon Curd Roulade. Our five year old was delighted with his Scampi and Chips followed by Chocolate Heaven ice cream!
The staff were lovely, catering for a wide range of diets. One of our party has a strong gluten intolerance and all his menu options were clearly pointed out.
After lunch, we took a stroll on Kimmeridge beach which delighted the children as they searched for crabs in the rock pools and paddled in the sea.
We will definitely return to Clavell’s Restaurant, for another lunch, as we would also like to visit The Etches Collection Museum, which opened in 2016 the Museum of Jurassic Marine Life with many fabulous fossils exhibits.”
