The Jurassic Coast Trust – AGM

The Jurassic Coast Trust

The Annual General Meeting was held in Burton Bradstock on 15th September. The Jurassic Coast Trust is a local environmental charity running education, conservation and community projects along the World Heritage Site. Dorset Coastal Cottages are one of the major Business Partners, who provide the financial backbone that allows the Trust to do its valuable work.

Here’s a summary of some of the things we talked about at the AGM:

Jurassic Coast Ambassadors Emily Cowper-Coles and Martin Curtis talked about their experiences of volunteering with the Trust. They have been able to pass on knowledge about the coast to others in their local community and beyond. Emily will be attending the World Heritage Youth Summit in Blaenevon in Wales in November. She will represent the Jurassic Coast in collaboration with other young people from the area.

The AGM was very well-attended, with a fantastic mix of business owners, Ambassadors, Trustees and local Councillors. It provided a great opportunity for people to meet and chat about what’s happening in their local area. The venue was the recently opened Seaside Boarding House, which put on a lovely buffet lunch amid scenic coastal views.

The Trust simply wouldn’t survive without the support of our Business Partners, so when you book with Dorset Coastal Cottages, you can rest assured that you are contributing towards some fantastic local projects, and are helping to ensure the Jurassic Coast is safeguarded for future generations to enjoy as much as we do today.
