Our aim is to provide you with the best accommodation whether you choose a country idyll or the bright lights of one of our seaside towns. Our focus is on quality, so all the cottages, townhouses and apartments are independently inspected by Turnstone Assessments and have to reach a minimum 3-star grading to join the Dorset Coastal Cottages family.
We are a local independent agency with real, in-depth knowledge of our properties, their locations and the surrounding beautiful Dorset coast and countryside. You can speak to someone who has been there! Our staff visit the properties annually (for 2017 visit the blog), so they can pass their knowledge and experience on to you. We have 3 local offices in the county at Wool, Bridport & Swanage and you can be sure of a warm welcome if you pop in to any one of them.
At Dorset Coastal Cottages we’re not ‘one size fits all’, we will take the time and listen carefully to your wants and needs to make the perfect stay. After your holiday, we will send you a Holiday Satisfaction Questionnaire for your opinion on the accommodation and its location, which results in the star ratings next to the ‘Cottage’ and ‘Butterfly’ symbols detailed on the individual property pages. We also ask you how we measured up to your expectations during the booking process via feefo (an independent review site). We read and acknowledge every one that is returned and act on them when we need to.
We take your safety extremely seriously. You can be assured that all our properties are legally compliant with the necessary inspections and certifications relating to heating systems, boilers, log burners/fires etc. All properties will have smoke alarms, fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
We hold as a standard for each property:
- Gas Landlord Safety Certificate or the equivalent for Oil and LPG fed systems.
- 5 Year Electrical Fixed Wire Test.
- Annual Chimney Swept Safety Certificate (where appropriate).
The property will have had a ‘Fire Risk Assessment’ and although not yet a legal requirement for holiday letting, we insist that all properties we represent have Carbon Monoxide Detectors in all required rooms.
However late your arrival you can be sure of a warm welcome. The beds will be made with fresh linen and the towels ready for you to use. During the winter if the cottage has a log burner or an open fire, logs or coal will be provided (see Help & Information for further information). There will be a welcome tray and a bottle of milk in the fridge so that you can put your feet up with a cup of tea and relax from the moment you arrive. All this is part of our standard welcome and will be waiting for you at whichever property you choose.
We are confident that you will have an amazing holiday and with so much to see and do we’re sure it won’t be long before you return – like so many of our guests who book with us time and time again. We like to reward that loyalty in a variety of ways. Once you have booked the first time will give you £30 off your next week’s booking with us if you complete the Holiday Satisfaction Questionnaire and if you book again in the same year we will also take off the £27 Booking Fee.
Once you have booked with us more than 5 times, you will automatically receive our discount loyalty card giving you a 5% discount on any future booking (from 2 to 28 nights) and the Booking Fee becomes a thing of the past.
