What’s involved in being a housekeeper?

BathroomWe are a local holiday cottage agency managing self-catering holiday properties across the Dorset coastline. Our cottages range from small apartments to large houses, and we are currently looking for self-employed housekeepers to play a vital role in caring for them on behalf of their owners.

As a housekeeper you would be responsible for the appearance of the property to the guest on arrival, arranging for linen to be laundered and for providing a welcome gift. You would also be the first port of call for any issues and queries the guests might have during their stay. We and/or the owners will be on hand should you need any help.

Properties are either a Friday or Saturday changeover and you would be responsible for your own property (or properties). Out of season, many cottages will accept short breaks, so for these cottages, the primary changeover day may vary and flexibility is essential.

As the role of housekeeper is more than just being responsible for cleaning, this is reflected in the rate of pay, which would be agreed between yourself and the owner.

If you are interested in coming to work alongside a small, local, friendly team please call the office on 01929 401420 for an informal chat and some more information.
