Situated in a beautiful rural spot just a couple of miles from the thriving coastal resort of Lyme Regis, this quirky and cheerful holiday getaway provides ample accommodation for two guests discovering this breathtaking area. A serene couple’s hideaway, this imaginatively updated barn conversion is perfect for keen walkers, anglers and nature loves eager to make the most of this beautiful region. Enjoying a tranquil and secluded location in the idyllic Dorset countryside, this friendly retreat is close to the Devon border and retains plenty of delightful original features including exposed wooden beams.

Entering this charming mid-terrace property via the stable door, you will find yourself in the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With beautiful original beams and a cheery wood burner effect electric fire, the lounge is a perfect space to snuggle up and watch a movie on the Smart TV in the evening. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for rustling up a romantic meal for two which you can share around the central dining table. Heading upstairs, the lovely double bedroom and the bathroom are in the eaves of the building, with low sloping ceilings and skylights offering far-reaching views. Outside, a few steps lead down into a pretty patio garden with outdoor furniture. This makes a pleasant spot for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening as you take in the charming views over the shared lawn which features picnic benches and a picturesque pond.

Lyme Regis (2 miles) has a popular beach, quaint cobbled streets, a historic harbour and a bustling promenade as well as plenty of great places to eat and drink and the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum. Other nearby attractions and landmarks include Coney’s Castle, Cannington Viaduct, Forde Abbey House and Gardens, Lambert’s Castle and West Bay (all within 10.5 miles).

Quiet location within easy reach of Lyme Regis. Most time was spent in Lyme swimming, walking and general pottering. There are other beaches nearby along the coastline.

Loved the location, peace, amenities. One of us, as a keen walker, walked everywhere. The other needed to drive to the Park and Ride, and could not have walked into the town and back. Wonder if your descriptions of time/effort are a little unrealistic for most? Lucky to see Grimethorpe Band at the theatre, as well as the local brass band on the proRead morem on Tuesday evening. This is a lovely cottage set in a beautiful location. The park and ride at the top of the lane was a bonus. This was not so much a holiday but a house hunting trip so we didn't get to experience all the area had to offer but did enjoy our walk into Lyme Regis.

The cottage was in a beautiful location with everything we needed. The hills around Lyme Regis are steep but the views are beautiful. The small patio is a lovely place to relax, have a meal or drink.

Barnaby cottage is a really lovely cottage in the quietest of settings so if its peace and quiet you want its perfect. The welcome pack was great. Thank you. Plenty of info available to make the stay enjoyable. All mod cons and so nice to have a proper freezer. The mile walk from the cottage to Lyme is down hill and scenic. Coming back by the same Read moreroute is not for the faint hearted but lovely nonetheless. Loads of eateries and coffee shops. We had a super stay & would definitely come again. Hide

Delightful cottage perhaps some attention could be given to the front courtyard garden .Dead rose bushes in a weedy trough is not a good look especially when compared with the next door one ! Some touching up of paint is needed inside also the sealant around the bath needs attention . We appreciated the very clear instructions regarding the T V .anRead mored other devices. THANK YOU . A lovely quiet location with some beautiful outside space and immediate access to some good walks. I suggest that you like walking, otherwise you might find it a bit of a trek into Lyme Regis. I stayed here for 4 weeks and found the cottage homely and warm in a very pleasant and relaxing setting. Everything you need for a short or long stay is provided. Mobile signal is fine and broadband works well. Check in was easy with excellent communication from the owner. A summer break here would be very enjoyable.

Very warm and cozy cottage with a great location. Lovely walk to Lyme Regis down hill, more challanging to return. Minor issues were taken care of promptly by the caretaker. Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay

Adorable cottage. Barnaby cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Decorated in a seaside theme with everything we needed. A quiet setting with beautiful gardens. We definitely recommend Barnaby cottage, a few minutes drive into Lyme Regis but opposite the park and ride into town if easier. Due to the heatwave, we didn't attempt the walk Read moreinto Lyme Regis. The welcome gift of fudge , local biscuits and tea was very gratefully received as was the milk in the fridge. Barnaby Cottage is in a beautifully quiet location. The owners have provided clear instructions for a lovely walk into Lyme Regis, where it is easy to while a way a few hours pootling and mooching around. Would highly recommend for a peaceful break.

The cottage itself was really nice, and suited our needs perfectly. It was lovely and quiet and peaceful, and almost everything we needed was there. We both agreed that we could pretty well move in, and live there for good!
