Sleeping eight, it has been sympathetically converted to retain much of its original charm through exposed beams and vaulted ceilings, with the welcome additions of a cosy wood burner, TV/DVD and Rangemaster electric oven. Spend your days strolling through the countryside, browsing the towns of Dorchester, Sherborne or Yeovil, or exploring the coastline which can be found just 10 miles away.

Spacious, bright and homely, this modern barn conversion is the perfect base from which to explore this diverse county. At one end of the large main living space is a generous kitchen area, complete with shaker-style units, a sociable breakfast bar and contemporary appliances. Dine overlooking the patio at the large table in the centre of the room before settling in for a cosy evening in front of the roaring wood burner. Each of this property’s four bedrooms has been elegantly finished in soft muted tones with antique furnishings and chic modern en-suite bath or shower rooms. Two sets of glazed doors open from the kitchen/dining area onto a sunny patio adorned with colourful beds and rattan furniture for summer BBQs. In an oak-framed summer house, there is a table tennis table and fridge - perfect for evening entertainment.

Set out on foot to explore the rolling chalk downlands of this picturesque area of Dorset before stopping for a bite to eat at one of the local pubs in Sydling St Nicholas (3 miles), Stratton (2.5 miles) or Charminster (4 miles). For fishing enthusiasts, guests can arrange with the owner to fish on either the privately-owned 4-mile stretch of the River Frome or on the private fishing lake near the property. Or, to get even closer to the water, head to the coast for a dip in the sea at Weymouth (14 miles), West Bay (16 miles) or Chesil Beach (14 miles).

Perfect for a family get together; comfortable for grandparents, spacious for the kids. Everything you need for a great stay, lovely open kitchen/dining area and a cosy lounge. A very lovely cottage which has been well thought out. Lots of room for groups and all of the rooms & en-suites are of a high standard. Nice rural location and our toddler loved having the sheep in the field right by the window, and seeing the sheep shearing - made his day! This was a last minute booking due to an unexpected cancellation of our booked holiday. What a surprise this is a beautiful barn conversion in lovely surroundings and it just has everything you need and all top quality it deserves it's 5 star rating. Ideal for a luxury get away, can thourly recommend the saxon arms for a Sunday lunch, Bed were really comfortable and cooking facilities were great, have already recommend to friends.

What a beautiful well equipped barn. We absolutely loved our week staying here. It was lovely to have ensuite bathrooms, all with baths and separate showers too. We wanted to use the log burner but was much to mild! Next time! So many lovely places to visit within a short drive. Fabulous accommodation in a quiet area. Spacious and clean. High quality furnishings and very comfortable. It was the perfect place for a group of adults to stay especially as everyone had their own bathroom. You can start great walks straight from your door too. Small shop 10 minutes walk away. Highly recommended and we cant wait to return.

This property was in an ideal location for relaxing in beautiful surroundings and for sightseeing at local tourist attractions. It was very well appointed with lots of space and very practically furnished. The beds were SO comfortable. The outside space and facilities were also great. In addition, we were made most welcome.
