Sitting between Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the fantastic Jurassic Coast, this inviting bolthole is perfect for those with a passion for exploring the great outdoors. Brimming with rustic charm and places to enjoy sociable evenings, make yourselves right at home in this humble abode which sleeps six across three bedrooms. Bring two of your four-legged friends along and explore the dog-friendly beaches at Monmouth, Church Cliff and East Cliff Beach (both 2.5 miles).

An old Georgian farmhouse wing, this dwelling boasts traditional charm from the moment you arrive. Climb three steps to make your way through the colourful door and head straight into the welcoming lounge. An inglenook fireplace houses a warming wood burner, a hit with guests with both two and four legs- particularly after long days adventuring. Sit beneath beams and take a moment to relax before heading into the kitchen/diner to rustle up tasty treats for all. Find the washing machine in the external utility room, great for keeping the noise at bay whilst cleaning muddy, sandy clothes. Plate up at the table or head outside and up steps to the private courtyard, a wonderful place to spend balmy evenings with a tipple or two, and a great place for canines to stretch their legs. Three inviting bedrooms are reached by climbing steep stairs and provide you with tranquil rooms in which to doze off and enjoy lazy mornings (take care of sloping ceilings). Soak in the ground-floor bathroom or freshen up in the first-floor shower room before heading out to explore.

With a plethora of tracks and trails to explore, follow the River Lim to Lyme Regis (2 miles) for a gentle waterside stroll. A great place to spend a day, Lyme Regis has plenty of eateries to visit for a pitstop, and the Marine Aquarium is a top destination for young guests. Visit the famous Cobb harbour before spending time splashing in the sea and relaxing on the beach. For a spot of fossil hunting, the beaches between Charmouth (6.5 miles) and Lyme Regis are good places to start.

This was the perfect stay. Plenty of space in rooms and everything was so comfortable and relaxed. We were so happy here for the week, including our two dogs. John and Ros were attentive owners who had provided a clean and wonderful base. The garden had a BBQ and is quite the suntrap in the summer, fantastic for hazy Al fresco dining. The beds wereRead more comfortable and we all slept well. My daughter really loved the ponies and was sad to leave them. All in all a great break in a fab location! Hide

We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay at Higher Holcombe Farm. Great little outdoor area equipped with firepit BBQ, very clean and well equipped - and plenty of seating for our family of six. Worth a revisit to explore more of the walking routes!

Nice accommodation could do with a bit of updating but clean, tidy and comfortable. Nice to have some fresh milk and biscuits on our arrival. Lovely walks locally perfect with dogs.

The cottage is charming, cosy and quaint. The accommodation is ideal for a multi age group family holiday. If you have a dog with you, the fully enclosed patio garden is ideal - no prospects of escapees.

Lovely and quiet here and we gratefully a chocolate cake, milk in the fridge and some candy. I would recommend this location for walkers and dog lovers as there were both in plentiful supply. The property had character and the kitchen was well equipped.

Amazing place to stay. Really quite and peaceful. The hosts could not have been more friendly. We stayed with our daughter and 2 border collies. Great walks to explore and seeing the owners 2 Shetland ponies each day was lovely. Brilliant break to chill and unwind. Would definitely recommend.
