On a working farm in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside is this pretty, Victorian cottage to sleep four. With spacious and homely accommodation inside and an enclosed lawn outside overlooking acres of fields, this is a peaceful bolthole for year-round getaways. Beyond the farm, the historic town of Dorchester (9.5 miles) offers a good selection of amenities, while the magnificent Jurassic Coast is just 5 miles away.

 

Inside, this period cottage has been beautifully updated to offer spacious and bright accommodation fit for modern family life. Cook up a storm in the charming country-style kitchen, before dining overlooking the hills. A sunroom with vaulted ceiling, exposed trusses and spectacular rural views is a lovely spot for enjoying a cup of coffee in the mornings, while the cosy lounge is ideal for quiet nights in. Upstairs, two light and airy bedrooms overlook surrounding pastureland. On summer evenings, there’s no better place to relax in the enclosed garden.

This is a wonderful Cottage in an excellent location with stunning scenery all around, ideal if you are looking for some peace and quiet. The cottage itself felt very welcoming and fully equiped for a comfortable stay.

A lovely, spacious cottage in a really peaceful location. Very well equipped and cosy. Superb views over fields and hills. Convenient location for loads of interesting places - particular favourites were Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens and Lyme Regis. Great meal at the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock. We'd love to return!

The cottage is very roomy and comfortable. It was a hot week when we stayed but the cottage remained quite cool. It was very clean and well equipped. It is in a beautiful location with great views. We had a lovely relaxing week with walks along the cliffs between Golden Cap and Burton Bradstock plus a swim in the sea.

We enjoyed staying here very much. The property has a lovely warm and comforting feel to it. The location is quiet and so peaceful with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. There isn't a dishwasher and the bathroom being downstairs could be awkward for some, but we didn't mind this at all. This was a lovely property in quiet countryside. It really is very large and had everything we needed. Very comfortable and warm. We enjoyed that we were close to walks, nature and a walk to the pub. Location was spectacular as it felt far away from daily life but close to the main road for travel access. We enjoyed the cows! Stunning location and views. So peaceful yet only a short drive to the coast and easy to get to both Lyme Regis and Weymouth. Comfortable cottage which is very big for a 2 bedroomed property. Would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our holiday in this very spacious cottage, which was comfortable and well equipped. The A35 is within very easy reach of the cottage but the hill in between means that you can't hear the traffic and are not aware of it. We chose Dowerfield cottage back in February during the second lockdown and it has been a much anticipated holiday. Pleased to say it did not disappoint. Location was fabulous, really felt like we were away from it all yet everything was in easy driving distance. Cottage is spacious, clean and well equipped. I really can't fault it in any way. Lovely cottage, with lots of things to see and do within 30 minutes drive. The cottage is on a farm and there is nothing nearby which gave a brilliant view of the night sky and waking up to the sound of cows and sheep in the field opposite. Lovely and peaceful. Although owners next door , you are left in peace, but are at hand if any thing goes wrong. Off road parking is good once you get used to reversing in.
