Unravel the secrets of the Jurassic Coast and enjoy fossil hunting on the shores of Charmouth Beach, rounding off with classic fish and chips and tea for two in a friendly cafe. Tucked 1.5 miles away from the sea, this bijou-style property provides a bolthole for couples within easy reach of an abundance of scenic trails that are ripe for exploring. Wrap-up warm and venture outside, returning to curl up with a good book and a sweet treat after a busy day.

Stylishly presented and compact with everything you need for a comfortable stay, this single-storey studio apartment is ideal for couples with a love of the outdoors. Inside, the open-plan property maximises the use of space with a cosy lounge/diner/bedroom, offering spots for reading on the sofas, enjoying light breakfasts or recharging your batteries. A handy kitchen adjoins the main room, and there is a separate shower room too. Outside, the open terrace has unrivalled views of your surroundings. You are welcome to explore the expansive grounds and take a dip in the shared outdoor pool (please refer to the 'need to know' for further details). Laundry facilities are available for a small charge on-site, and parking for one car is subject to availability. Please note, access to the property is either down a set of outside stairs to the small courtyard or via a long flat path.

A pleasant 1.5-mile walk will take you through the village and onto the shingle beach, a popular choice for fossil hunters keen to search for treasures under the crumbling cliffs. Lyme Regis is a short 2.5-mile drive away and is brimming with potential for a day trip with its shops, museums and staggering array of restaurants, cafes and gastropubs. Stroll along the promenade with an ice cream in hand, heading down to the harbour to watch the boats before choosing a venue for your evening meal.

  • The property is heated by an air to air heat pump which can also act as an air cooler during the warmer summer months

  • Shared outdoor heated pool (available April – September, weather dependent) - guests can book a 50 minute slot each day for the pool (maximum 1 slot per household per day) – there will be a non-refundable payment of £2 per person, details of the booking system will be displayed in the property on arrival
  • Regret no babies or children
  • Private water supply, the water is not suitable for drinking but it is fine for showering and boiling. Bottled water will be left in the property for drinking
  • Arrival: 15:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

Location was great. Nice walk from accomodation. Try not to look under the settee or bed. No worse than anywhere else we have stayed though.

Beautiful little place ,a well equipped, clean bungalow/flat . Very close to Lyme Regis and Charmouth in walking distance, lovely coast line , beaches . Swimming pool can be booked with the hotel , you need to Pre plan swimming a nice place for a relaxing break .

Little Char is a good base to explore nearby places. The apartment is reasonably well equipped, however it is crammed with unnecessary furniture items (i.e. wicker baskets), resulting in little space for personal items. The level of cleanliness was far below what we expected. We spent the first hour of our stay cleaning the kitchen, as the cupboardRead mores, worktops and tiles were covered in grease and stains. Very unpleasant and not what we were hoping for. Because of this, we would not go back. Hide

The cottage is in a good location. Stayed at little char with my husband and our dog. We were very lucky with the weather which was warm and pleasant.

Ideal for couples who love walking as right next to SWCoastal path. Whilst walking the dog in the woods accessed from the car park saw deer in there. Very clean and tidy and well presented studio. Kitchen has plenty of equipment but didn't use much as eating out mostly. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely accommodation in a nice location! I enjoyed the walks from the footpath at the back down to Charmouth Beach and Lyme Regis. The apartment had everything I needed, was clean and very quiet. It was easy to drive over to other places like West Bay, Colmer's Hill and Portland for walks. Lovely clean accommodation. Only downside was the water was not fit for drinking. Had to buy bottled water as the water in the bathroom was brown in colour and we had to run the taps to try and clear it, so didnt want to risk the tap water in the kitchen.other than the water we had a really pleasant stay even though the weather was awful.

Lovely interior, as shown in the photos. Perfect location. Great access to fields and woods from the site for dog walks, and 8 mins drive to Lyme, 5 mins to Charmouth. Easy parking on-site. The host supplied some bottled water, but there were no signs up by the taps to say not drinking water, but I presume that was the case. Lovely well equipped cottage. Disappointed that it was further away from Chalmouth than we thought...a long hill climb to get back to Fernhill Heights! An up to date bus timetable would have been useful. But we had a lovely holiday and loved Lyme Regis. Shame that the hotel wasn't open to non residents.

What a super place to stay! Little Char was very comfortable and very well resourced. Iti s well located for Lyme Regis and Charmouth. Remember to take some bottled water with you as the water from the tap is not suitable for drinking

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Little Char. It was beautiful, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The outside space was lovely to sit and enjoy a peaceful drink. Just a short drive to Lyme Regis which is very quaint with plenty of eating places. Would definitely recommend.
