Situated close to a quaint village green this beautiful Grade II listed thatched cottage is full of character and offers cosy accommodation for a family looking to explore Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

This delightful, Grade II listed thatched cottage is one of two character properties tucked away close to East Chaldon village green. Inside, the accommodation has been beautifully updated and modernised to create light, spacious and contemporary living spaces while retaining plenty of original charm through exposed beams, an inglenook fireplace with wood burner and cottage doors. With a games room, Wendy House and large garden with BBQ, this property offers something for all ages and is just 1.5 miles from the South West Coast Path.

A stable door opens into a kitchen/diner, which displays a charming farmhouse style with a Purbeck stone floor, oak worktops, chunky dining table and plenty of natural light. The lounge/diner retains exposed beams, a large inglenook fireplace with original bread oven, flagstone floor and window seats, with the later additions of a wood burner, Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and cosy sofas. A door opens onto a sunny patio area with plenty of seating for summer BBQs and the large lawn beyond is bordered by fruit trees and roses. While guests of all ages will enjoy a competitive game of table tennis or darts in the thatched games room, little tots can spend happy summer afternoons playing in the delightful Wendy House nearby. There is private parking.

Surrounded by rolling Dorset countryside, this property is just 150 yards from the local pub, Sailor’s Return. The dramatic Jurassic coastline lies just 1.5 miles away, where the South West Coast Path can be joined to reach the iconic geological structures at Durdle Door and the stunning white pebble beach at Lulworth Cove. Nearby Winfrith Newburgh hosts an award-winning village store and Post Office, while a little further afield the riverside town of Wareham (10.5 miles) offers a wider selection of shops and eateries.

A gorgeous cottage in a great location. Cottage was extremely comfortable for two adults and two teens. It was a home from home fully stocked with everything needed to have a brilliant Christmas week including all the essentials to cook a Christmas dinner. Plenty of walks and things to do near by but also perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Overall this was a fantastic cottage. It looks beautiful and has a lovely garden, games room and summerhouse, which was ideal for kids. The position is excellent with easy access to beaches and many other attractions. The local pub is well worth a visit. Obviously the age of the cottage limits the facilities but it is very well designed within thesRead moree limitations. Hide

Great cottage, we loved our stay here for the week. There were 5 adults a toddler and a baby, the garden is great for the little ones to play in and the pub is just a short walk away for the grown ups. Everything you need is there, the cottage and village is picture perfect.
