A spacious family home ideal for groups, this cottage rewards guests with fantastic views and the chance to unplug and unwind surrounded by Dorset goodness.

The village of Worth Matravers is 1 mile from the coast and just west of Swanage (4 miles). It is a quintessentially, pretty Dorset village with a populated duckpond. Towards the centre is this detached, bright and family-friendly cottage with a big, sunny garden and glimpses of the sea.

Park on the gravelled, two-car driveway, then enter the property down seven steps to a paved area, with shrubs and a low dry stone wall. Go through the front door and into the hallway, hang up your coats, plonk your shoes, and explore! Kids can either run straight upstairs for a glimpse of the sea, or the bright and welcoming ground floor surrounds you on either side. The double-aspect lounge lies to your right, with comfy sofas facing a wood burner and a Smart TV, great for evening cosy-ups. French doors open onto a partly-enclosed, pretty garden with a secluded seating area. The double-aspect kitchen/diner also has French doors to the garden, plus another door that leads to the side of the cottage. Eat a hearty breakfast and plan your days around the large family-sized table, while the children chose a book to read or play happily in the garden. Under the stairs is a WC and utility area, whilst upstairs there are three lovely bedrooms. Two are doubles, with sea glimpses, and the third has fun, chunky bunk beds. Mind your heads on the low eaves, kids! The family bathroom has a separate bath and a walk-in shower, perfect for small people’s bath time, and big people’s relaxation.

The local pub is 200 yards from the cottage, and the nearest shop is just 2 miles away. With coastal walks on the doorstep and the Dorset Adventure Park only 4 miles away, this lovely cottage creates a fun family holiday.

The cottage is in a superb position with regard to the village pub, the local walks and its proximity to Swanage, Studland Bay, Wareham etc. It is spacious, comfortable and clean with a lovely garden and from the upstairs bedrooms a view of the sea.

The cottage, as ever, was brilliant. Worth Matravers is a superb place for a walking/get-away-from-it-all holiday. It lacks amenities for kids, but there is stuff to do close by. And, of course, it has probably the best pub in Britain (The Square and Compass} literally on the doorstep.

This house is bright, beautifully decorated and equipment all worked well. Village is quiet and close to the coastal walks. We would have liked to be able to control the heating as it was quite a cold spell.
