Surrounded by the beautiful RSPB Stoborough Heath nature reserve, this attractive cottage enjoys a central location for a family looking to explore the Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle and Lulworth Cove.
This stunning cottage is situated in the village of Furzebrook, surrounded by an ancient RSPB heathland reserve. Wander out onto the footpath at the end of the garden which links to the Purbeck Way and you can witness some fantastic nature including various species of bird and plant. The local shop is 0.5 miles from the property and the village pub just a 1.5-mile drive away.
Entering the large light open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen, you will immediately see that this property has been designed and furnished with the family in mind. The different areas of the room are well-defined, with patio doors leading to the rear garden. The decor is a mix of contemporary and traditional and makes the property feel very homely. On the first floor there’s a king-size bedroom with a family bathroom and separate WC, and on the second floor, you will find a further super king-size bedroom (which can be made up as twin upon request) with stunning views of the surrounding heathland. There is a small front paved area outside the cottage and parking for 2 cars with steps leading down to the property, but the real gem is hidden at the back of the cottage. The stunning large rear garden has a suntrap patio with a BBQ for outside cooking, sun loungers on the lawn for soaking up the Dorset sun and a games room/summer house with table football, pool table and comfortable seating. Views from the garden are of the spectacular surrounding heathland. There is convenient storage for bikes/kayaks in the garden shed.
Further afield, you can visit the stunning Arne Nature Reserve (4 miles) and spend hours just wandering through the idyllic woodlands. There are plenty of marked trails to follow, spotting deer and wildlife along the way and opening out to the unspoilt beach at Arne Peninsular a diverse bird & wildlife haven. Also worth a visit are the iconic ruins of Corfe Castle (3 miles), built by William the Conqueror. In the historic village catch the steam train from Corfe Station to the seaside town of Swanage.
