From Worth Matravers, country paths lead to the Norman clifftop chapel at St Adhelm’s Head, horseshoe-shaped Chapman’s Pool and the old quarrying caves at Winspit. Other short walks take you to the rocky outcrops at Seacombe and Dancing Ledge (from which the brave can take a dip in the sea). There are longer distance hikes along the glorious South West Coast Path, just a mile away.
The heart of the house is a large, light-filled kitchen/dining room - a perfect space for enjoying a family meal. The ground floor also features a charming snug with a wood burner and a games room with table tennis and a proper pool table. Upstairs, the second lounge has a Juliet balcony with panoramic views. There are five attractive bedrooms set over three floors: One double, one king-size, one super king-size and two are twins (one twin can be made as a superking upon request). Step outside into the large garden where you can toast marshmallows over the stone fire pit and play croquet and swingball. Children will love the swing & slide set.
Easy day trips include Corfe Castle, a charming village of thatched cottages with an ancient castle and a woodland waterpark with obstacle courses in natural lakes. At Studland, children can paddle in safe, shallow water, play on vast sandy beaches and hunt for crabs in rockpools. Enjoy the dramatic scenery at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, explore the ghost town of Tyneham and visit Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island -- cloaked with pine and oak forest and home to some incredibly fluffy red squirrels.
