A thatched cottage with contemporary interiors, this home from home is just right for those looking to indulge in a solo break or romantic getaway.
This property is a charming one-bedroom thatched cottage mixing traditional styles with the contemporary in the pretty village of Wool. This cosy and characterful cottage is tastefully presented with a duck stream and wide grass verges at the front, making this a quintessential English holiday home. Its close proximity to the local pub (160 metres) and the coast (5 miles) make it an enviable location for two to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Enter the cottage through the shared hall and into the open-plan living area through a private door; warm tones and exposed beams welcome you to sink back into the sofas in front of the electric flame fire or take a peek at the original bread oven. Step up into the spacious kitchen that has everything you need to cook up a storm, plus two large windows that fill the room with light. Head up the stairs from the living area to the bathroom, where you’ll find a WC and shower over the bath for a peaceful soak or just a quick rinse at the end of a busy day, while views of the duck stream from the low window in the double bedroom make it a cosy and tranquil place to rest. Please note, there is reduced head height in the eaves. Outside, the shared front garden has a seating area, ideal for an al fresco drink, while the private rear garden has a pretty water feature surrounded by trees and flowers.
Make sure you visit Lulworth Cove (5 miles) and Durdle Door (5.5 miles) during your stay, for breathtaking views and blue waters. If you’d prefer a walk inland, stroll the grounds of Lulworth Castle (5 miles) or Athelhampton House and Gardens (10 miles). You’re also just 6 miles from the riverside town of Wareham, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants and a 1930s cinema.
