Property code: DC166

Set in a delightful rural location, this Grade II listed thatched cottage makes a wonderful holiday home for a couple or a small family wanting a tranquil country retreat within easy reach of the sea.

This beautifully-refurbished, Grade II-listed cottage is located in the peaceful village of Burton Bradstock and enjoys a quiet location at the end of a row of traditional stone-walled cottages. Set in a side street near the parish church, this quirky cottage retains many original features, including flagstone floors on the ground level. With the shop and pubs just 100 metres away, and the beach just half a mile, this home is perfect for couples or families looking for a relaxing, seaside holiday.

A cosy and welcoming sitting room awaits as you enter the cottage, with a Smart TV and wood burner-style electric fire. Chairs and a sofa offer the perfect spots to relax and put your feet up after a busy day of exploring. Settle down for something to eat in the cosy dining room, with a window seat and antique court cupboard. The well-equipped galley kitchen leads through a low doorway into a handy utility area. The shower room is also on the ground floor. Head upstairs and you’ll find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite WC, along with a single bedroom. Don’t forget to mind your head in the eaves! To the side of the cottage, a step leads up to a delightful stone walled garden with a lawn. There’s also parking for one car on the gravel drive.

Keen walkers will love exploring the countless trails to be found along the Jurassic coastline, as well as in the surrounding countryside. While staying here, though, be sure to visit some of the county’s popular towns. Bridport (3 miles) is a lively little place, famous for its many markets. A visit to West Bay and its harbour, which famously featured in the ITV series Broadchurch, is also a must.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 single
  • 1 shower room on the ground floor with walk in shower and WC; 1 en-suite WC
  • Fridge with ice compartment, range electric oven and hob, microwave
  • Washing machine, table top dishwasher and 7 bottle wine fridge in the utility room
  • Smart TV in the lounge; TV in the bedroom
  • Please note due to the property’s age there are some low and narrower doorways and some rooms are accessed via steps

  • Spacious, enclosed garden laid to lawn with outdoor furniture
  • Off-road parking for 1 car
  • Shared access to rear of neighbouring properties via back garden
  • Shop and pubs within 100 metres

A delightful cottage in a good location in the village. The grocery shop and pubs are only a few minutes walk from the property. The property is well equipped even down to a safety pin. The property was absolutely immaculate and with parking at the side of the property it made for a great stay. Would we stay here again - definitely!!!

A beautifully renovated cottage, well equipped and with a helpful welcome basket of essentials. Set in a quaint village with 2 excellent pubs within 3 minute's walk. The 3 Horseshoes is particularly recommended but booking for an evening meal is essential to be done as far in advance as possible

A lovely, comfortable cottage. Warm and cosy over a cold and wet weekend. Kitchen well-equipped but somewhat cramped. Bedrooms very comfortable. The round dining table a definite plus in such a small cottage. Too cold and wet to enjoy the garden!
