A Grade II-listed former-stables, this self-catering cottage has been lovingly and skilfully designed. Making the most of every inch of space and incorporating lots of attractive features, function is infused with luxury for the ultimate combination. Stepping inside, you will immediately appreciate the handsome flagstone floor, high ceilings and period aspects. In an open-plan layout, the lounge/kitchen/diner are arranged over the ground floor. Nestle into the comfortable sofa and loosen up as the wood burner chugs out heat in winter. With a TV positioned on the wall, you can catch up on the morning news as you brew a cup of tea or watch a film in the evening. Attractively partitioned, the kitchen houses everything you could need for culinary creativity, including oven and hob and lots of utensils. Also, on the ground floor is a fabulous bathroom with large shower and heated towel rail. Up the stairs, a mezzanine is home to a low-level double bed and balustrade overlooking the ground floor. Outside, you can relax in the unenclosed shale and cobble seating area with a book or alfresco meal.

Only 3.5 miles from Weymouth, a wealth of shops and eateries await, as well as stunning coastline. For a breath of sea air, stroll along Weymouth Beach or head to neighbouring Chesil. A must visit, Nothe Fort is 4.5 miles away, an award-winning attraction offering local history and spectacular views.

This stable cottage was superb! It was small but perfect, the owners covered everything! Shower/ bathroom was lovely. We loved the mezzanine bedroom. The welcome basket and milk was lovely touch. The book listed left addresses for any eventuality (Drs,Dentist,hospitals ect) instructions for hob ect. . So so well thought out and prepared. We loved iRead moret! We had such a lovely stay at the Old Stable - the amenities were fantastic and we had everything we needed for a half-term break. A perfect location for exploring and the owners were so lovely with some great suggestions for places to visit and eat.

Looking for a lovely retreat and convenient for all the local attractions then this is a wonderful base to escape too, especially in the cold winter months with the wood burner. Had a lovely stay here very clean and tidy, perfect location not only to go into Weymouth but also to go to other seaside towns. Local shop just up the road and supermarkets 5 minute drive away. Would definitely go again

The old stable is a lovely place to stay. It is very close to key attractions and destinations in Dorset. It is beautiful decorated and has great character.

This is a lovely little cottage which is really cosy. Small but perfectly formed! We chose it for its location and the log burner and it didnt disappoint. We really looked forward to heading back there after a day out. The owners were so lovely and were very knowledgable about the area. They really made us feel at home. Wed love to visit again!

We had a very lovely and comfortable stay in The Old Stable. It had everything we need for a self-contained holiday. Check-in was easy with the lockbox. Parking was on the owner's driveway. The location was perfect as a base for visiting all of Dorset's highlights. About 45 min drive west to the fossil beaches near Lyme Regis, 45 min drive east to Read moreOld Harry Rocks, 30 min-ish to Portland, Durdle Door and Lulworth, and West Bay cliffs. Beautiful cottage in a lovely area with great access to shops and local tourist attractions. We went for Christmas Day and everything was decorated fantastically, it really made it feel like home. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a small place to stay with all the necessary functions you could need.

We had a very overdue break at the Old Stable and were certainly not disappointed. It is a snug and cosy place for two. It is well located for exploring both local and further afield parts of Dorset. Ideally situated between Dorchester and Weymouth. A small cottage, well appointed. Near to the River Wey. Excellent bus service just outside the cottage. Although the Fish and Chip shop sign is outside the adjacent property, this has ceased to trade and is now a dog grooming business.

A really welcoming and clean base from which to explore the surrounding coves and villages that was a pleasure to return "home" to at the end of each day. We had a fabulous holiday!
