This property is a delightful two-bedroom barn conversion with superb flagstone flooring and wooden beams situated close to the town of Wareham. Located on a quiet no-through lane, only a farmer and livestock use it occasionally, so you have the ultimate peace and quiet. Its close proximity to the local pub (0.5 miles), shops and cafes (1 mile) and the coast (7 miles) mean there’s something for everyone and you’re sure to have a relaxing holiday here.

Enter the cottage up two steps into the living area, where vaulted ceilings and French doors to the garden make it a bright and airy space. It’s still cosy thanks to the inviting sofas to snuggle into in front of the wood burner. The u-shaped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm for your family, with pretty views over the garden from the sink. Next to the kitchen, a king-sized bedroom has soft, delicate decor that promotes a good night’s sleep, while recessed stone bedside tables remind you of the property’s former use. There is also a bathroom for convenience. There is a step down through French doors into the garden. Heading up the wooden spiral staircase, you’ll find a small gallery area overlooking the living area and a cosy twin bedroom with exposed beams and reduced height at the eaves. There is also a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, the garden is laid to lawn with plenty of flowers and shrubs, and the raised gravelled seating area is a perfect spot for an al fresco drink. Play some outdoor games or have a peaceful moment by the segregated pond.

The town of Wareham is only a mile away and has plenty of shops and restaurants to peruse, as well as a museum that’s full of local history. Take a wander around the natural water feature the Blue Pool (2 miles), which changes colour in different lights, or enjoy a more active afternoon at Corfe Castle (3.5 miles) learning about the Civil War.

We arrived the day after Storm Goretti blew through in cold early January but found the cottage walm, cosy, welcoming and easy to find with the good directions and check-in information. Everything was clean and tidy with nice linens and towels provided. The large rear enclosed garden was great for our eager Labrador as were the plentiful local walkRead mores and heathland which are walkable directly from the cottage. Overall a great cottage in a fabulous location, easy to recommend to others. Hide

Picked for its location; perfect for exploring the area whilst close to Wareham's amenities. Kings Arms, 5 mins walk, has great food. Italian Kitchen and separate bakery superb. Really lovely stay, garden was private and great for the dogs, unfortunately the weather wasnt great so didnt use a lot. 20 mins walk to Wareham, bus stop just outside, playground/dog walking area opposite. Train station 45 mins steady walk but plenty of cafes/ watering holes on route. Cottage itself was great, really comfy sofa. Would recommend

Compact and bijou cottage which was clean and tidy. Good size garden for the dogs though I think a determined dog will get out. My dogs loved zoomies in the garden. Steps and stairs in the cottage are steep. Kitchen has all you need but bring your own condiments. Fluffy towels and kitchen washing items provided. Great location for walking and viRead moresiting places. The beds are rock hard but if that's not a problem for you then the cottage is a great place to stay. Definitely dog friendly.

Positives: A pretty cottage with a lovely aspect and large gardens. Excellent location for Wareham and getting out and about in general around the Purbeck coast. Negatives: Both bathrooms are impractical. Downstairs ensuite is small with tiny sink. Upstairs shower over bath is in the eves, making it awkward. The garden is not dog secure - small Read moredogs can get out under the gates or through gaps in the side hedge. That said, we still enjoyed our stay at the Snuff Box very much.
