Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle, this waterside lodge sits between four designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is close to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Sleeping four across two bedrooms, spend balmy evenings sizzling up a storm on the BBQ, sipping drinks on the veranda and staying warm by the open fires. Just 16 miles from the pair of beaches at iconic West Bay, you can enjoy days by fresh water close to home and time in the salty seas slightly further afield.

Pull up at the end of the private drive, find yourselves with ample parking and unload your bags before making your way inside. Step through French doors, great for letting the fresh air inside on lazy mornings or relaxing evenings and find yourself in the open-plan heart of the home. Bright and airy, this home is decorated in neutral tones and pretty patterns, creating a welcoming, calming ambience in which to unwind. Throw a log on the open fire and settle on one of two comfortable sofas in front of the TV, great for family film nights or watching a DVD with friends. Ample worktop space in the kitchen area means you can choose more than one chef to cook up a storm and get lots of hands on deck to rustle up side dishes for a BBQ banquet. Whatever the weather you can dine alfresco underneath the sheltered veranda, and you can light the second open fire to keep the chill at bay. Two spacious, light bedrooms welcome you to drift off after long days adventuring.

An anglers’ delight, this home sits on the Langford Lake, next to the bubbling, Sydling Brook (children take care). Chat to the owners and pay an extra cost to have exclusive use of the lake so you can fish all day. For a beach day, hop in the car and visit one of many coves, bays and beaches dotting the coastline. The iconic beaches at West Bay (16 miles) and Lulworth Cove (20.5 miles) are well worth the trip for a swim in the ocean and a day on the sand.

Really lovely location, and so good for wildlife watching including kingfishers and deer. The outside seating area is especially lovely to sit out on in the evening with the fire. We all really enjoyed our time there, thank you!

Great peaceful location by the stream and lake. Saw pheasant, kingfishers, heron and a couple of deer too all while sitting on the patio. Internet/wifi was fine for netflix and Teams meetings if you are working - but the uplaod speed is too slow for your camera to be on. Good location for day trips to coast. Shops in Dorchester approx 15 mins driveRead more away. Would happily stay here again. Hide
