With fantastic, sociable spaces both inside and out, this home sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, the perfect destination for groups of family and friends. Escape to Dorset and explore AONBs and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site by day, before returning for al fresco dinners on the private terrace. With plenty of places to fish nearby, this abode makes a great bolthole for keen anglers.

Arrive at this dwelling and admire the beautifully verdant, valley views before stepping inside. Creating a welcoming hub of the home is the open-plan living space which sits beneath exposed beams, has a gorgeous chandelier and French doors to let natural light and fresh air flood inside. With underfloor heating throughout, leave boots and coats in the utility room and stay warm as you move around. Settle on the sofas in front of the TV for a relaxing afternoon, moving only to pop the kettle on and pick up treats from the impressive kitchen with Rangemaster electric oven and hob for cooking up delicious feasts. Plate up inside or out and enjoy communal meals together and sundowner tipples on the terrace. After adventurous days, the three pretty bedrooms will be a welcome sight; one resides on the ground floor whilst the remaining two can be reached by ascending to the first floor. All the bedrooms are treated to Smart TVs and en-suites so you can rise, shine and freshen up without having to queue. There is ample off-road parking.

Travel 14 miles south for a beach day at Weymouth. Backed by a gorgeous Georgian seafront, the sandy beach has beautiful waters to swim in and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat at lunchtime. If little ones are joining you, treat them to an afternoon at Sea Life Weymouth. Make the 5-mile trip into the county town of Dorchester for a spot of retail therapy, a trip to the cinema, a meal out or to stock up on local produce. Keen anglers can chat to the owners and fish on the River Frome or on the nearby lake.

Beautiful setting - we saw hares, buzzards, kites, swifts, owls, pheasants, and enjoyed watching the swallows feeding at the nest above us as we enjoyed breakfast on the patio most mornings. Not to mention the Robin who kept us company! Cottage was lovely, with lots of attention to detail and very clean. Somewhere we could really relax. We'd also rRead moreecommend dinner at The Greyhound, just up the road. Hide
