Immerse yourselves in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a stay at this delightful cottage at Litton Cheney. Sleeping up to eight guests, it nestles in exquisite cottage gardens and takes in panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. Enjoy the picturesque setting or head off to the Jurassic Coast approximately 4 miles away, for days on the beach and long walks with a four-legged friend, who is also welcome to accompany you.

A steep hillside path leads you from the parking area to the main entrance. Step into the stone, terraced home to find yourself in the inviting hall, which leads to a study and the comfortable lounge. Set the wood burner roaring in here then watch your Smart TV, play games or simply soak up the views. Head on through the cottage to find the bright kitchen/diner, with its generous space for food preparation and a large table for lively meals. You'll also find a handy utility room and bathroom on the ground floor. Head up the winding stairs to all four of your bedrooms and the family shower room on the first floor. On sunny days, dine, BBQ or take a good book out into your English country garden. Keep an eye on the children where there are steps and the ground is slightly uneven, and enjoy the seclusion of the setting.

Pull on your hiking boots and walk just over 3 miles to the historic site of English Heritage's Winterbourne Poor Lot Barrows, a collection of 44 Bronze Age burial mounds. You might also like to visit the Nine Stones, 5 miles away. Set in woodland, these form a prehistoric circle around 4,000 years old. On warm days, pack a picnic and your swimming costumes and head to the beach at West Bexington, 4 miles away. To browse in shops or enjoy a meal out, venture into Weymouth 12 miles away, or Dorchester 10.5 miles away.

The cottage is in a great location for walking and accessing the coast. The local pubs are friendly and easily walked to, although a torch on winters night would be recommended. Sadly the advertised basket of wood for the fire was actually one small log and a couple of sticks of kindlingwe knew we had to buy wood, but this was a bit much. The waterRead more pressure for the showers was pretty low, and the upstairs shower is a tight squeeze for anyone less than svelte. Peaceful and great for stars Hide

Lovely peaceful cottage in a beautiful village with stunning views. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable with lots of room for 2 families with the added luxury of 2 bathrooms and a bath. The off street parking was a bonus especially when there's so much to see and do within driving distance. The village pub food was delicious and the Read morestaff were lovely so definitely worth a meal out. Take a torch if you're walking at night though as there's no street lights - perfect for star gazing Hide

Overall the location and layout of the cottage is awesome. With the late check in and early check out times I would have expected the cottage to be spotless and it sadly wasnt. The thoughtful groceries provided and facilities available were excellent and when we couldnt find the beach towels a quick text and all was solved speedily. What fantastic views to wake up to each morning, even in the rain that unfortunately arrived for a few days during our week's stay. We appreciated the 2 showers and the bath whilst we stayed with 5 adults and a toddler and also the play park close by to walk the dog and amuse the toddler. Very nice. Location is very quiet in a small hamlet. You could hear a pin drop, so if you want a quiet place out in the country, this is it. Easy access to various places including Lyme Regis/Jurassic coast, Bridport, Weymouth, and Dorchester to name a few. Has everything you need for a relaxing time. Anyone looking for a quality cottage in a great location this is it. No traffic noise, only the distant sound of sheep and cattle. Nice large kitchen with big fridge freezer Sunny secluded patio area are great. Great views over the fields and woods. Plenty of places to visit close by.

Lovely cosy cottage which worked well for our small party of 4 adults, one nine year old and a dog. This Cottage is delightful both inside and out with the gardens well maintained with established plants. The views across to the hills are beautiful. The Cottage is clean to a high standard and the rooms are comfortable and cosy. Being a pet friendly Cottage was great for us so we could explore the local area with the dog.
