Enjoying a secluded hilltop position, this beautiful 18th-century property offers stunning views across the Isle of Purbeck and towards Corfe Castle. Part of a charming terrace of properties in the historic village of Kingston, this cosy and traditional stone-built period cottage provides friendly and welcoming accommodation for up to eight guests. Perfect for families and friends, the cottage is ideally placed for exploring Dorset’s stunning beaches, beautiful nature reserves and the spellbinding vistas of the Jurassic Coast.

A flagstone hallway leads you through to the warm and colourful lounge, an ideal spot to sit back and unwind with a movie on the TV or a good book in front of the wood burner. The galley-style kitchen is equipped with everything you may need for a favourite meal which you can share in the beautiful dining room. Full of character, this room has traditional ceiling beams, stone flooring and a feature fireplace. Steps lead down to a double bedroom, shower room and a bunk bedroom which has been converted from former outbuildings. The cottage also has a first-floor twin room, double room and bathroom. Due to the age of the property, there are many changes of level and character features including low doorways and areas of restricted head height, adding to its charm. The wraparound garden offers plenty of space for children and dogs to play and run. There are two terraces with outdoor furniture, so you can admire the superb far-reaching views. A traditional ha-ha runs along the bottom of the garden.

The cottage is perfect for discovering the Isle of Purbeck, with nearby attractions including Corfe Castle (2 miles), The Blue Pool (5 miles) and Dancing Ledge (3 miles). The Victorian seaside resort of Swanage (5.5 miles) has a sandy beach and thriving promenade. Nature lovers can explore several beautiful nature reserves or head out to Brownsea Island (7.5 miles). Also within easy reach are Lulworth Cove (14 miles), Durdle Door (14.5 miles) and Poole (16.5 miles).

The cottage is in a great location, near to lots of places of interest, and with a superb view Well equipped and comfortable with plenty of outside furniture in different parts of the large garden. We enjoyed our visits to the nearby pub, which although the beer garden was busy didnt disturb us at all. We hope to stay at Purbeck View again

The location, garden and view are first rate. The property was clean and tidy on arrival. The kitchen is very small and cutlery/crockery divided between it and the dining room next door - a serious challenge when catering for a special event or a number of people.

Brilliant, comfortable cottage, quirky too. Gallery kitchen is small in comparison with the other rooms, but fully stocked. The views were incredible, two minute walk to a great pub.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Purbeck View and have already booked for next year! The cottage provided everything we needed with stunning views and the opportunity to sit at both the front and back patios. Plenty of room for parking. Very convenient for the Scott Arms, bus stops and walks.

This property is 5 stars; the pictures are accurate, but can't do the location justice. Lots of room. Beds good to very good. The Scott Arms is good for Friday or Saturday night Pop-up dinner (Jamaican menu) but otherwise, just drinks for the view. Restaurants in Corfe Castle village are good to very good. The position of the house is amazing with fabulous views towards Corfe. The garden is beautiful with plenty of seating. The house needs some updating especially the showers as the water output is poor and if you intend to cook, the fridge and freezer are small for the size of the accommodation. However, we enjoyed our visit and Kingston is in a gooRead mored location for visiting different localities. Hide

In terms of location this property is perfect. Not too far from the touristy bits. The garden and views were stunning. The house itself could do with a spruce up.
