This bright and airy barn conversion, in the picturesque Blackmore Vale, is a peaceful haven for those looking to switch off from everyday life. The property has two delightful outdoor seating areas and, in the evening, gather around the roaring wood burner to share a bottle of wine and chat long into the night. Enjoy relaxing walks through the Dorset countryside or hop in the car to explore the stunning Jurassic Coast (22 miles). The market town of Blandford Forum is just 6.5 miles away and is a great place to pick up local produce.

A shared driveway leads to the single-storey property, which is accessed across a working farmyard. At the heart of the home is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This sociable space is decorated in neutral tones and has an impressive vaulted ceiling. Dine together around the large dining table, before curling up in front of the wood burner to watch a film on the Smart TV. To the front of the barn is an enclosed courtyard with outdoor furniture and there’s also a sun terrace to the side of the property where you can sip your morning coffee whilst planning the day’s itinerary.

The walking opportunities in the area are endless. As well as the spectacular Blackmore Vale, you’ll also be on the fringe of Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This distinctive landscape is made up of rolling chalk grassland and escarpments, and really is a must-visit for keen walkers. Journey south to experience the magic of the Jurassic Coast. Located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lulworth Cove is one of the jewels in Dorset’s crown. The rock formations, turquoise waters and white cliffs create a truly unique landscape and make the perfect setting for a memorable day at the seaside.

Lovely stay at Chitcombe Barn, it's in a perfect location, very quiet, plenty of footpaths you can walk on from the house, which has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. We felt very well looked after and at home there. Will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barn, it is extremely comfortable, clean and very well equipped and the owner even left us a lovely homemade cake which was a delicious bonus! As a party of 5 adults we found the space and layout of the barn perfect - it felt very spacious but still cosy. We would highly recommend this property.

The barn was well into the beautiful countryside, so be prepared for plenty of country roads. Lots to do within a few miles drive, lovely towns too.
