Property code: 83915

A wonderful barn conversion, making the perfect couples retreat to explore the three counties of Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

Nestled on the cusp of beautiful Axminster, this property is a delightful retreat for couples. Beneath the wooden exterior is a cosy base for your adventures, whether you are venturing across the rugged countryside or heading to the coast for a day at the beach. Axminster is best known for carpets and celebrity chefs, so retail therapy enthusiasts and passionate foodies are well catered for.

Forming part of a complex of similar properties, your abode is far removed from its former life as a barn on a working farm. Inside is spacious and practical with a style that combines contemporary comfort with traditional details. High ceilings and cast-iron frames set the scene in the lounge/kitchen/diner, the heart of the home for meals and leisure time. The generous bedroom has a king-size bed for a restful night’s sleep, and there’s an en-suite bathroom complete with a bath and a separate shower for a spot of pampering. Outside, the patio area has seating for al fresco breakfasts and morning coffee in the early sunshine.

You’ll be positioned with handy transport links to Devon, Dorset and Somerset thanks to the proximity of the A35, so you’ll be spoilt for choice of whether to head to the coast or navigate the countryside. Lyme Regis, 4.5 miles away, is famous for its bustling town with its pebble-strewn beach, independent cafes and variety of amusements including art galleries and museums. Charmouth, 4.5 miles away, is arguably one of the best sites for fossil hunting, but for a day out with a difference, why not choose Seaton, 8 miles away? Seaton is a hub of things to do and there’s a tramway for rail enthusiasts.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully presented holiday cottage. It had everything that we needed, and was very comfortable, well decorated, lovely temperature, extremely comfortable bed and the fact that we could take our dog Arthur with us on his first beach holiday, was just fabulous. For him there was an enclosed paddock across the road tRead moreo stretch his legs, brilliant! It is also in a great location for visiting some fantastic places. Hide

Very well appointed, clean and well thought out property. Would prefer not to have to wait until 4pm to check in.

Visitors must realise that there is nothing in Axminster to do but the location of the accommodation is an ideal base for sightseeing and provides peace and tranquility on the days when you want to rest. The owners are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble they are so kind and helpful. Can't wait to get back next year.

Great place to stay. Felt like a real home from home and immaculate throughout. The central location allowed us to easily explore three counties. Dog friendly with a small section of field over the road dedicated as a run area. Owners very friendly and on site if needed. Would book again without hesitation.

This cottage is recently renovated and in excellent condition. It had everything we needed and quite a few useful bits and pieces we didn't expect to find. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely consider staying again.

Coombe Bank farm is a good central location to travel around from, good access to the main roads to get to wherever you want to see. Recommend Bridport, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth for the shops and the donkey sanctuary, also the Dart Valley Railway. Petrol shortage restricted our exploring plans.

The stables were nicely converted and provided a good base for both Dorset and Devon.

A lovely place to stay, the main constructive feedback would 'Dog Friendliness' there was no where for her to 'do her 'business' without an extensive walk. Also a car is a must as there are no local facilities without a couple of miles walk. However the property was first class, extremely clean, & if the above small hurdles are not a major issue, wRead moreould highly recommend. We hardly had any contact with the owners, but what we had was friendly & if required was just a text message away. Thank you. Hide
