This inviting property occupies an idyllic setting within the peaceful Marshwood Vale.  It's a wonderful choice for walkers and those seeking a relaxing break, whilst being close to many popular attractions.

Nestled in a rural hamlet in the picturesque Marshwood Vale, this traditional stone cottage offers the perfect country escape for a family or group of friends looking to explore the Dorset coast and countryside. Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this two-bedroom cottage combines original features with a homely and welcoming ambience, while offering far-reaching views from its spacious rear terrace.

Spread over two storeys, this is a cosy cottage with plenty of charm and character. When you return after a country walk or day at the beach, the snug lounge offers an inviting spot to unwind with a book or watch a film, with a warming wood burner for chilly evenings. Rustle up family favourites in the galley-style kitchen, and gather around the dining table to chat about your day over a meal while gazing at the views. The shower room is located off the kitchen, while the two pretty bedrooms are up the cottage-style stairs, with a twin at the front, and a room with a single and bunk bed at the rear. After a refreshing night’s sleep, the superb terrace is the ideal spot to sip your morning cuppa while soaking up the magical views, binoculars on hand to observe the birds and wildlife.

This location is paradise for walkers and birdwatchers with several trails from your door and many more within easy reach, including an Iron Age hillfort at Pilsdon Pen (2 miles) and Lewesdon Hill (5 miles), the highest point in Dorset with gorgeous views. Known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, the picturesque town of Lyme Regis is 9 miles south, boasting beautiful beaches, a pretty harbour, and breathtaking scenery all around. Sitting in the heart of the Jurassic Coast, you can head out in either direction to go fossil hunting on the beaches and admire the dramatic coastline.

Little cottage, perfect for a family of 3-4 people. Quiet location with a stunning view. Rooms are nice size and have essential furniture available. The kitchen is small but has all the essentials to do your meals (with that stunning view...). Wall heaters work really quick and warm up the different areas within minutes. You can park your car in frRead moreont of the cottage or on the little space on the side (you might need to squeeze a bit if you have a big car). Very solid option for a relaxing time. Hide

The great things about this cottage are the view from the back and the lovely bedrooms, bright and spacious. However, you are completely car dependent: there is nowhere to take a walk from the cottage and no garden to play in. The downstairs is small, but everything was clean and well equipped.

We had a lovely 3-night stay in this beautiful cottage. The view from the back patio was stunning- perfect for a sunny breakfast. Booked very last-minute but the owners and Holiday Cottages were very accommodating and organised everything very quickly for us. Loved the small cupboard just upstairs that had everything to take to the beach (bucket anRead mored spade x2, picnic blankets etc.). Highly recommended! Hide

April Cottage was spick and span when we arrived and is set on a hillside with superb views. It is very comfortable and well equipped. We would have no reservation in recommending it for a quiet relaxing get away....

The nicest cottage and rolling-hills view we have ever had. But a small car for parking is an advantage.

Pros: Great view out the back. Lyme Regis/Charmouth only 15 minutes away Cons: property has five beds but too small for five people. The patio furniture only seats four. The fridge is very small, if you are thinking of stocking up for your stay you will be disappointed. The nearest grocery store worthy of the name is quite a distance away in AxminsRead moreter. The parking space is extremely compact, and the photos may lead you to believe that you can fit two cars. You can't. Hide

A cosy cottage with log fireplace and amazing view out the back. A steep staircase up to two lovely bedrooms with all single beds and comfy mattresses. A good location for exploring the coastline of Dorset and Devon.
