Stay in this stunning Grade II-listed property which has been thoughtfully renovated to make a wonderful base for families to come together and make memories in the Dorset countryside. With rural trails and coastal delights both within easy reach, a stay here offers the best of both worlds. After days out, head back home for a leisurely game of table tennis.
Upon entering the property, you are greeted with a spacious boot room providing storage for shoes and coats which leads through to the kitchen/diner. Worktops and appliances line two of the walls, with modern decor blending seamlessly with the original features of the room such as the flagstone floor. In the centre of the room is a long dining table where friends and families can gather around for a decadent, home-cooked feast at breakfast, lunch or dinner time. The living room is warm and welcoming and includes a Smart TV and three sofas allowing space for everyone, but the real ‘wow’ factor within the room is the grand exposed brick fireplace with a large wood burner at its centre. Completing the ground floor is a king-size bedroom with neutral decor and opposite this, a shower room. From the wooden staircase to one corner of the living room, the first floor can be accessed, opening up into a mezzanine-style room which is fantastic for kids. This is furnished with three single beds and a selection of bean bags. A further two bedrooms can be accessed from this space, including a room with a double and single bed, and a king-size bedroom. A second bathroom can also be found on the first floor featuring a roll-top bathtub for evening relaxation. Outside, there is a garden lawn area with plenty of space for kids to play and a number of picnic benches for dining alfresco. There is also a shared games barn with a table tennis table inside which guests are welcome to use. Please note, due to the setting within the eaves, there are some areas of restricted head height on the first floor along with uneven floors and some steps.
When you can tear yourself away from the grand grounds of the property, Charmouth (1.5 miles) is a fantastic option with a beautiful beach, plenty of walking trails and the opportunity to head off in search of fossils. Dotted along the Jurassic Coast are several sandy stretches to explore, some with rock pools and water sport facilities, and others with history to explore such as the beaches of Lyme Regis (3 miles) which has a lovely 5-mile circular walking route directly from Charmouth. Head to Bridport (7 miles) to pick up trinkets from your travels in one of the many independent shops and dine out at one of the local cafes, pubs and restaurants.
