Gather a friend, a partner or take your small family for a little trip to Swanage. This Grade II listed stone cottage is full of quirks and character. This would be the perfect spot for a quiet getaway, where you can relax and reconnect, perhaps amble along the nearby beach or take your dog for a walk around Durdle Door.

As you enter the property you’ll find a quirky lounge/diner, with a staircase to one side. The room has plenty of fun decorations, as well as exposed brick and beams to show off the building’s past. It’s got a cosy feeling, and it’s a great spot to curl up with your companions and a great book. Continue through to the kitchenette, where you’ll see a stable door leading to the courtyard. The last part of the ground floor is the family bathroom, which has a shower over the bath. Head up the stairs in the lounge/diner for the bedrooms. There’s one single bedroom and a king-size bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and more exposed beams. This cottage comes with a courtyard garden, which is a lovely sun trap where you can enjoy meals and drinks at the table. Please be aware that this area opens to another property, and there’s right of access next to the property.

Swanage is a fun spot, with plenty of fun things for you and your group to try. You’ll be 500 metres from Extraordinary Bodies, a circus which works with able and disabled people. If you’d like an outdoorsy challenge, visit Cumulus Outdoors, which offers plenty of different activities. No holiday in Dorset is complete without a trip to Durdle Door, 16 miles away, for the spectacular views.

The cottage is very cosy and handy location to the centre of Swanage with a short walk to the seafront and shops. However parking was impossible, we managed to park the second evening out the front of the cottage to then have a neighbour shout at us and become very agressive that we had parked in her spot, despite being in front of the cottage and Read morebeing no designated spaces. Anyone over 5ft 6 would struggle with the low beam and be aware of the very steep stairs to the top floor. Hide

This cottage has very very uneven staircase to the first floor, difficult get up and down, can be slippery going down. A very steep staircase to the top floor.Have to watch the head height between the kitchen and living area. I forgot and bang my head, it hurt for a few days. The hob is by the doorway which can still be hot after using, needs a covRead moreer. My husband and I felt there were too many dangerous areas, we left our holiday early. Hide
