Set deep in the Dorset countryside, this rural hideaway is perfect for friends and families seeking a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. You’ll have endless walks from your front door, and will also be just 6.5 miles from the clifftop paths and picturesque beaches of the Jurassic Coast. In the evenings, sip a glass of wine on the lawn, whilst admiring the far-reaching views.
A gravel path leads to the semi-detached cottage and into the sunroom, where you’ll find a dining table with fabulous views. From here, a doorway takes you through to the kitchen, where you can rustle up delicious dinners for the group. After dinner, retire to the traditional lounge, with its beamed ceiling, to share stories in the glow of the wood burner, or sneak off to the snug to watch the Smart TV. A shower room completes the ground floor. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the three bedrooms (please note, the king-size bedroom is accessed via another bedroom and, due to the age of the property, you may experience restricted head height in some areas). Outside, you’ll find seating for two on a raised decked area, leading down to a sloping lawn enclosed by hedges.
The cottage is surrounded by Marshwood Vale, with its rolling hills, narrow country lanes, Iron Age hill forts, and ancient woodlands, making it a paradise for walkers. Pilsdon Pen – the highest hill in Dorset – is 4 miles away and offers breathtaking views across this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are some fabulous beaches within easy reach, including the fossil-hunting haven of Charmouth (6.5 miles) and the iconic, cliff-backed beach at West Bay (10 miles). The vibrant market town of Bridport is a great place for picking up souvenirs and local produce, and is just 8.5 miles away.
