After a day spent exploring this picturesque part of the country, return to this idyllic holiday home in Shaftesbury, Dorset. This 18th-century Grade II-listed cottage provides a characterful base for a family of four to adventure the landscape on foot or relax in the peaceful garden overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Recharge your batteries in this lovingly furnished cottage which welcomes you straight into the fully equipped kitchen, with views over the hills which provide the setting for family dinners around the table. On chilly evenings, stoke up the wood burner in the cosy sitting room and enjoy a glass of wine with your guests while chatting about tomorrow's escapades. Savour the delightful garden by taking your book outdoors to recline on the lounge chairs or steal a few quiet moments in the summer house. Head upstairs, where three serene bedrooms welcome you for a great night's sleep. One king-size, one twin, and one single all offer countryside views and plush bedding for the perfect night's rest. An excellent cottage, beautifully appointed. All the fittings are of very good quality and we had everything we wanted and more. Lots of nice touches like vintage books about the area. It makes a good centre for visiting Dorset and Wiltshire and is close to some lovely walking.

Lovely character cottage very well equipped to a very high standard. Beautiful quality bedding and towels. The rear garden is beautifully designed and is a sun trap. There are walks from the door but be aware that the road the cottage is located on can be busy at times so be careful with very young children and dogs. Within driving distance of ShafRead moretesbury and other local attractions. Hide
