Treat your loved one to a truly special stay at this delightful, stone cottage near West Melbury in North Dorset. Sleeping just two guests, the one-bedroom hideaway sits on the fringes of the magnificent Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With a private lawned garden where you can bask in the sunshine on summer days, it is less than 2 miles from Shaftesbury and 11 miles from bustling Blandford Forum.

Let yourselves into this inviting hideaway, which is next to the owner's home but enjoys privacy, to find a beautifully finished living space with a welcoming ambience. The long, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has been cleverly arranged within the old building to offer you and your significant other everything you are likely to need during your stay. The contemporary kitchen area is the perfect place to whip up your romantic dinners for two and there is a table where you can dine together as you take in the verdant views. The sumptuous sofa is ideal for reading your books or settling down together in front of the Smart TV with a bottle of wine for the evening. There is a double bedroom, where you are assured a superb night's sleep and a modern shower room. Enjoy the fresh air and views out in the garden on fine days. Cook supper on the BBQ on summer evenings then sit out under the stars. Have breakfast in the sunshine before heading off on your next adventure.

Head off on long walks or cycle rides through the Blackmore Vale or the National Trust's Fontmell and Melbury Downs. This area of picturesque landscape was bought in memory of the novelist Thomas Hardy who set many of his novels in this corner of Dorset. A little gem. Comfortable, well equipped, beautifully situated & very quiet. A convenient base for exploring the area. Shaftesbury shops just 5 minutes from the cottage. Well-stocked farm shop also 15 minutes away.
