Escape with your special someone to this quaint first-floor holiday home just 10 miles outside the lovely town of Sherborne. Sleeping two people in one bedroom, it’s the perfect accommodation option for couples seeking a peaceful retreat in the North Dorset countryside. During the day, wander through the charming streets of Sherborne, which are lined with independent shops, quaint cafes and traditional pubs. In the evening, come home to your stylish apartment to cosy-up by the wood burner with your special someone.

Take the private wooden staircase to the front door of your apartment. Step inside and you'll find a light and bright open-plan lounge/dining area that features an electric wood burner-effect fire. Take a moment to slip onto the sofa in the lounge and allow the country views from the large window to make you feel right at home. A stable-style door leads out to a balcony, so this space is full of natural light. When it’s time to eat, whip up a meal for two in the compact kitchen area and enjoy a romantic dinner for two at the dining table. Alternatively, head out onto the balcony to have a fabulous al fresco dinner while you enjoy the lovely, uninterrupted country views. After dinner, warm your toes in the lounge while watching your favourite TV show. At the end of the day, there’s a cosy double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom offering a shower over the bath to retire to. A stable-style door provides access to the lovely balcony – the perfect place to enjoy your freshly-brewed coffee in the morning.

Discover Sherborne Castle's (9.5 miles) rich Elizabethan history with your loved one. The castle has an incredible collection of exquisite furniture, paintings and ceramics to explore. Then, immerse yourself in the splendour of the Capability Brown-designed garden, where tranquil lakes and grassy lawns invite you to enjoy a romantic stroll. Alternatively, head to the lively town of Yeovil (14 miles) to visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum or stroll through Ninesprings Country Park.

The apartment is in an excellent location, close to most of the attractions you are likely to visit.Clean and tidy, easy parking. The hosts were friendly and approachable. It has a lovely terrace that is a great place to relax on the patio furniture (provided), with a glass of something cheerful when the sun shines. Please note, directions from KingRead mores Stag are the wrong way around - the property is approximately 1.6 miles along the causeway (opposite the Green Man pub) on the right. Hide

Dorset is a lovely county with beautiful scenery, historic places to visit, welcoming people, not forgetting it's famous coast and beaches. The cottage is in a lovely village and has great views of the countryside. The village shop is 5 minutes walk away and has a variety of stock. We had a good meal in The Green Man at Kings Stag.
