Property code: OC-WY401

Located on a quiet riverside lane, this characterful cottage is close to both Bridport’s thriving town centre and beautiful West Bay. Cosy and pet friendly, it has three bedrooms, a sociable open-plan living space and a large garden – an ideal base for a family of five. Enjoy wonderful mornings exploring the beautiful coastline together, afternoons visiting charming market towns and relaxing evenings around the wood burner.

The whole family will feel at home in this pretty, terraced cottage, which is approached via a narrow lane and overlooks the nearby green meadows and River Asker. Park the car then head inside where a charming, open-plan living space with wooden flooring stretches from the front door to the back. At one end there’s a bay window, a choice of seating, a wood burner and a TV/DVD; the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day out. A contemporary dining suite sits between the lounge and kitchen areas, the latter offering all the essentials of home and giving access to an enclosed courtyard and the ground-floor family bathroom. Once your day is done, head up to the first floor where two bedrooms await – a king-size bedroom which can also be made up as twins if discussed when booking, and a single bedroom with en-suite WC. A steep flight of stairs leads further upwards, where an attic-style room has two single futon beds and a seating area: the perfect chill-out space for children. The property is set back from the lane by a pretty little cottage-style garden, but it’s at the rear that you’ll find space for everyone to let off steam. Beyond the back door, the enclosed courtyard has an outbuilding with room for wetsuits and bikes, and a washing machine and microwave. Further on, you’ll find a large garden with outdoor seating, a BBQ for al fresco feasts and a long lawn where children and their canine companion can play.

The cottage is less than half a mile from the centre of town, where there are shops, bars and eateries to suit all tastes. Venture 1.5 miles in the other direction and you’ll arrive at West Bay, which sits on the South West Coast Path and has two beautiful beaches backed by the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast.

Delightful, cosy cottage with stunning views to Walditch Hill. Location great for all Bridport has to offer and only a 20 minute walk down the Monarch Way to the sea at West Bay

The location of the cottage was very good indeed. We had difficulty getting our car up the lane(VW Golf) and a bigger vehicle would be impossible, This should be made much clearer on the website. For that reason we wouldn't return. Coffee pots were all unclean and we didn't use the microwave as so incoveniently placed and unstable. Rita the neighboRead moreur was brilliant and helpful ! Hide

Really lovely well equipped cottage and fantastic location. Only suggestion and feedback is that the sofas have seen better days and were very uncomfortable. Otherwise all in all a lovely cottage and holiday.
