Enjoy traditional style and welcoming comfort in this quaint cottage, set in the heart of gorgeous Swanage. Perfect for couples or small families, it’s in a brilliant location for strolling to the beach, getting active in the great outdoors or even hopping on a charming steam train.
This quirky property, set over four levels, is full of charm and – as hinted at by its historic exterior - has plenty of original features, including rustic beams on its low, sloping ceilings and exposed-stone walls. Step inside to find an inviting lounge where seating is gathered around a wood-burner-effect electric fire and a TV – a lovely place to get cosy after your day’s adventures. A cottage-style staircase with eight steps leads you down to the kitchen/diner, where you’ll find all the appliances and equipment necessary for preparing tasty meals. The family bathroom is also on this level. At bedtime, take the open-tread staircase from the lounge to the single bedroom on the first floor, then up again to the double bedroom on the second floor. This light, bright room has pretty tongue-and-groove walls, a small built-in wardrobe and a TV with DVD player. Please note that one side of the bed is against the wall. For a morning cuppa, a sundowner or a meal in the sunshine as you admire the views of the hills, head out to the sweet courtyard garden.
With the beach just 300 metres away, this fabulous escape is perfectly situated for strolls along the golden sands as well as hiking the beautiful coastal path. Foodies will love the abundance of local produce available, including freshly caught fish and home-made ice cream. As well as a variety of places to eat and drink, you’ll find a great choice of galleries, boutiques and independent shops, too.
