Perfect for a family or a small group of friends, this comfortable cottage has heaps of character and is fully equipped to make your getaway truly relaxing. It’s located just off the main street in Swanage, within easy reach of all this popular town’s many attractions, from tea rooms and restaurants to the long, sandy beach.

A former sweet shop, this quirky holiday destination possesses lots of unique features, including steps up and down inside. Come through the porch and you’ll go down three steps into the impressive lounge/diner, where a Purbeck-stone fireplace with a wood-burner-effect electric fire is the focal point. The farmhouse-style dining table seats six and is connected to the kitchen via a handy serving hatch, and the galley kitchen itself is equipped with all the necessities for holiday cooking. On this floor there’s also a shower room, while the family bathroom is on the first floor. Also upstairs are all three bedrooms: a king-size with two Juliet balconies, one with views out to sea, plus a twin room and a single. Please note that the king-size and single beds are both on raised platforms. For a breath of fresh air, make a coffee, pour a drink or pop your meal on a tray and enjoy an al fresco experience in the small courtyard garden.

The welcoming town of Swanage is set on the Jurassic Coast and offers attractions for every age. Beach lovers can build sandcastles, swim or sunbathe, perhaps taking some time to explore the amusements on the prom behind or stroll along the Victorian pier. Try some local produce in the variety of cafes and restaurants, and wander the array of interesting galleries and independent shops. For something different, book a boat trip or jump on the steam train to the atmospheric Corfe Castle.

Dolphins Cottage was an excellent location for a family holiday in Swanage, The property had everything as described. We had a problem with a blocked toilet on the first day but the issue was resolved immediately We would have appreciated some instruction on where to put recyclable rubbish ? Everything else was perfect Thank you

A lovely cottage, very well equipped, comfortable and close to the centre of Swanage. Many good days out within a short drive and lots of nice restaurants, pubs shops and the famous beach within a short walk. Only minor criticism is the tv signal was patchy, although online apps were available. Just as a word of advice, the last 50m up the road to Read morethe cottage is a little steep! Hide
