This characterful period cottage is in the delightful coastal town of Swanage, and offers the perfect base for families or couples seeking a traditional seaside holiday. A short, 200-metre stroll brings you to the town centre, where you’ll find a great range of shops and eateries, and seaside attractions to enjoy before returning home for an al fresco evening tipple in the tranquil garden.

The 19th-century, former fisherman’s cottage is arranged across three floors, and has a beautiful blend of original features and homely touches, creating a welcoming holiday home that’s full of personality. The ground floor has an open-plan layout comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner, offering ample space for sociable evenings on the comfy sofas as your favourite films play on the Smart TV. In winter months, fire up the wood burner to create a cosy ambiance as you enjoy a delicious meal cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. When bedtime calls, cottage-style stairs lead to the first and second floors, where two inviting king-size bedrooms await, one with an en-suite shower room. Completing the property is a well-appointed family bathroom on the first floor. Outside, an attractive courtyard garden beckons, with a choice of seating areas and array an of pretty shrubs and flowers – the perfect spot for a memorable al fresco meal.

Swanage is a traditional seaside resort, with a sandy beach, Victorian pier, promenade, and fantastic range of cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Throughout summer, cruises and fishing trips regularly depart from the town, giving you the opportunity to explore the stunning coastline from the water. Alternatively, take a trip on the Swanage steam train (0.5 miles), which chugs through the beautiful Purbeck countryside and offers gorgeous views of Corfe Castle. When it comes to walking, stride out along the dramatic South West Coast Path (less than 200 metres), wander around the grounds of Durlston Country Park (1 mile), or set off on a ramble through the Purbeck Hills.

For the size of the cottage, the price was far too high although location was excellent. Also despite comms being sent to original cottages about a dog next door that wouldnt stop barking throughout our stay we had no response from tou and assume we wont get one again. We also had to change this booking prior to this cottage due to very poor communRead moreication on your website regarding a property that had building work going on at it during booked dates. That should be obviously highlighted on your website and it wasnt. Hide

Beautifully fitted out, landing at top of first flight a little dangerous but difficult to see how it could be improved, similarly washing machine and dryer would have been handy but appreciate difficult to find room in that size of kitchen

A gem of a find ! Home from home, with all the creature comforts you need. A stones throw from shops, restaurants and the beach, but still peaceful and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. We will definitely be returning.
