Property code: OC-WY469

This characterful cottage for families and couples is set in a pretty side street, close to the heart of Swanage. A short stroll brings you to the bustling high street, with its excellent array of independent shops and eateries, with the sandy beach just 300 metres away. Here, you can enjoy a traditional day by the sea, before returning home for a cosy evening in the sociable, open-plan living space that awaits.

The holiday home is bright and airy, with large sash windows bathing the accommodation in natural light. The hub of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, decorated in neutral tones with a beautiful wooden floor. Cook up a storm in the sleek kitchen, and enjoy mealtimes together at the breakfast bar or around the formal dining table. After dinner, unwind in the cosy lounge area to watch TV. When the night draws in, retire to the two sumptuous bedrooms - a chic king-size room and a flexible twin room. Serving the bedrooms and completing the inside is a well-appointed family bathroom. Outside, external steps lead to a courtyard garden with outdoor seating. This area is a real suntrap, and the perfect spot for al fresco dining on a summer’s day.

Swanage is full of seaside charm, with a Victorian pier, promenade, sandy beach, colourful beach huts, and a heritage steam train all within half a mile. The area is a paradise for walkers, with the long-distance South West Coast Path passing through the town, as well as countryside trails in Durlston Country Park (1 mile), and a network of exhilarating routes in the Purbeck Hills (10 miles). Just 4 miles from Swanage is Studland Bay, where you’ll find four stunning, sandy beaches, along with nature trails through the surrounding dunes and woodland. Other local beauty spots include Old Harry Rocks (4 miles) and Durdle Door (18 miles).

Really well equipped cottage right in the centre of Swanage. The accommodation was perfect for us. The cottage was clean and fresh. Very good all round!

We have stayed at Cutter on numerous occasions and have already booked to return in October. It was nice to see the bathroom had been refreshed and new stools in the kitchen. It is a lovely cottage and would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at cottage celebrating my mums birthday. The cottage is beautifully decorated and was the perfect getaway for a long weekend. Lots of lovely costal walks near by and the town centre has some useful shops for getting any supplies you might need. We stayed towards the end of October when it was quite cold outside but the cottage Read morehad a great heating system so we were very toasty! We would definitely recommend a stay a the cottage. A charming property in a very good location, just yards from the sea, shops and an excellent fish and chip shop - you can look out of the front door to see if there's a queue! The Ship Inn is next door but one and there are other pubs in the locality so some nights you can hear noisy revellers into the early hours. It didn't really bother me. The Read morekey safe is by the back door which is up some rather deep stone steps and along the paved patio area. Once inside the cottage you'll find the front door key and when going out walking it's much easier to use the front door. The paved patio area is a real sun trap all morning and until mid afternoon and surprisingly peaceful considering the proximity of the Ship Inn. The kitchen is well equipped with easy to use microwave and cooker. However the baking trays in the oven looked very unappetizing and the hob well used. Two sofas in the open plan living area . The TV is a little small . But all in all it's a pleasant place to sit and relax. The bedrooms are cosy, beds clean and comfortable and there are nice white towels. There are not wardrobes as such but a rail with hangers high up in the airing cupboard in the main bedroom and just two hooks on the back of the door in the other bedroom. The bathroom is well appointed with an excellent shower over the P shaped bath. There is a garage only suitable for a small car but this is a useful storage space for other items you don't need to take into the cottage. Would I stay there again? Yes. Hide

Cutter Cottage is very comfortable. The location is great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lack of a parking space (unless you have a small car) is a minor inconvenience, but broad road car park is 2 minutes walk away and met our needs. However, the 40 charge to park for the week is a bit steep and at busy times it is not easy to find a spacRead moree. The only other issue we had was the lack of detail relating to the televisions. These have built in dvd players but they are not 'smart' and do not have hdmi, so we were not able to stream films etc. This information would be useful for guests in advance. Better still, my suggestion would be that the owners upgrade to smart units. We were lucky with the weather but if it had been a wet week entertaining our children in the cottage would have been a challenge. These are minor gripes, on the whole it was a nice place to stay and we would recommend it. Hide

Nice cottage but only found accurate info on parking on another site shortly before stay - had to use main car park in Swanage at extra cost. Would not have booked if we'd known before. Shower always flooded floor, no matter what we tried - screen is inadequate. Fridge temperature too high, food went off, control already set to maximum. Those stairRead mores are dangerous!! But we appreciated the wine/biscuits/milk and overall had a nice stay, thanks. We won't be returning, though. Hide

Very well stocked property, with everything we could have needed. Childrens table ware provided was a big surprise. Most of the property was very clean, the only exception was the floor was very dirty, could have done with a deep clean. Also, ants were marching in every day through a crack in the doorframe in a long line. Generally, very pleased Read morewith the property apart from the floor. We managed to park a Vauxhall Astra ESTATE car with a tow bar in the garage although it was very tight and took nerves of steel. Hide
