Make memories to cherish at this magnificent country residence. Set within a 7,000-acre Cranborne Chase estate, it provides a palatial setting for a party of 17, is pet friendly and features a pavilion complete with a sauna. Golf, pleasure gardens, and a welcoming village pub are close by, and the cathedral city of Salisbury is within 7 miles.

Every day will feel extra special as you gather with family or friends at this first-class holiday home. Three properties - a main house, annexe and Japanese Pavilion - combine to offer flexible accommodation that''s chock-full of atmosphere, the principal rooms having a huge sense of history and containing fine period features. An ancient oak door from the courtyard leads into the medieval hall; note the open fireplace and flagged floor. There''s another original fireplace in the impressive oak-panelled dining room in the Tudor addition to the house. The large kitchen - sure to be the scene of many fun moments - has every contemporary essential and is complemented by an outer room housing a large larder, utility area and a second main house entrance. On the other side of the hallway, the TV room/study is made for relaxation. An inner hallway leads to a shower room and a connecting door to the Butler''s House - perfect for those yearning for privacy, this single-storey annexe has a large lounge with TV and garden views, a kitchen, two super-king-size bedrooms and a bathroom. Back in the main house, a wide oak staircase leads to the first-floor landing, off which is a beautiful drawing room with a large window overlooking the garden and a striking open fireplace. Nearby are two bedrooms with super-king-size zip-and-link beds (each can be made up as twins on request) with en-suite shower rooms, a super-king-size zip-and-link room with Tudor panelling and decorative herringbone brick fireplace, a master king-size bedroom with dressing area and luxurious en-suite shower room and a separate bathroom. A narrow staircase leads up to the second floor, where a single bedroom leads into an attic room with another versatile super-king-size zip-and-link bed. A bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower completes the second floor. Offering additional - and romantic - accommodation within the grounds of the house, the Japanese Pavilion has a super-king-size bedroom and an en-suite shower room with its own sauna. The beautifully maintained grounds here are just as stunning as the accommodation - there''s much to enjoy across the estate, including a Japanese-style garden, ornamental ponds and places to dine alfresco. Unwind in the sauna or for the ultimate chill-out arrange to have your very own hot tub.

The village of Tollard Royal sits close to Wiltshire''s southern boundary with Dorset and just 6 miles from must-see Shaftesbury. Stroll to the welcoming local pub, explore the 7,000 acres on your doorstep, or perfect your swing at the parkland golf course a couple of miles away. Larmer Tree Gardens - the first ever privately owned gardens in England to be opened to the public - welcome visitors from April to October each year and are little more than a mile from your holiday residence; for walks in a wilder landscape, Cranborne Chase National Landscape is all around you, too.

This is a truly stunning big house. We enjoyed our time there immensely. Absolutely perfectly fitted out for setting up a feast with a huge dining table. The rooms are very comfortable - it's a privilege to live in such a historic house. The grounds are beautiful too - with excellent walks available on the estate. It was a stunning setting for our Read morebirthday celebrations. Everyone involved in the rental of this mansion was super-helpful and helped to make the whole time there perfect. Hide

Wonderful place for a family celebration. All our guests commented on their beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. The Hall and reception rooms were perfect too, and great to have a large country kitchen for relaxed breakfasts.
