Get the whole gang together at this idyllic 16th-century farmhouse sitting just 6.5 miles outside Axminster. Sleeping eight people across five bedrooms, this is the perfect accommodation option for large families or groups of friends who want to celebrate a special occasion together in the beautiful Devonshire countryside. Spend a lovely day exploring the charming churches and shops of the historic town of Axminster; and in the evening, come home to this lovely farmhouse to enjoy a sizzling BBQ feast with your loved ones on the pretty patio, before you relax with a glass of wine by the firepit.

Park up your vehicles in the private off-road parking area for three cars and make your way to this dreamy farmhouse’s entrance. Next you’ll find a wonderfully spacious country-style kitchen – the social hub of the home. To your right is the first wing of the property, where the ground floor features an elegant dining room that can seat up to ten people, as well as double doors that lead out onto the patio if you wish to dine alfresco. There is also a staircase that leads to the ‘Stag’ double bedroom, which boasts its own en-suite shower room and pretty garden views. Head back to the cottage’s original hallway and you’ll find the second wing of the house and a second staircase leading to the first floor. There’s a large hallway with its very own piano, a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, and a gracious lounge with a welcoming gas stove. To the left of the lounge, you’ll find the peaceful ‘Hedgehog’ super king-size bedroom, which can be made up as a twin on request when booking. To the right of the lounge, you’ll discover a third staircase with wooden spiral stairs that lead to the ‘Hare’ twin bedroom, which can be reconfigured as a super king-size upon request when booking. Just across the landing you’ll find a chic family bathroom with a stylish roll top bath and a walk in shower. On this floor you’ll also discover the king-size ‘Fox’ bedroom and the double ‘Squirrel’ bedroom.

Head to the charming seaside town of Lyme Regis (11 miles) to spend a happy few hours strolling along Cobb Harbour and exploring its fossil-rich beaches. Alternatively, treat yourself to a vineyard tour at Lyme Bay Winery (11.5 miles). Indulge your taste buds with a tasting of diverse drinks, from crisp English wines to luscious fruit liqueurs.
