Whisk your loved one and your favourite four-legged friend off to this delightful Dorset hideaway. An annexe to a larger property, but enjoying its privacy, this one-bedroom bolthole is set in 19 glorious acres of land, 2 miles from Sherborne. Take in the views out across the undulating countryside from your private seating area after picturesque walks and visits to pretty towns and villages.
Return from your many trips out to enter the cottage via the colourful kitchen/diner. Put the kettle on for a cup of tea and enjoy it at the round table with a slice of mouth-watering Dorset lardy cake. This room is also equipped with everything you will need to help you rustle up breakfast, lunch and dinner with your own ingredients. Climb the stairs up to the first floor to spend cosy evenings in together in the cosy lounge. Savour the views through the skylight windows and wonder at the stars here too as night falls. Watch a good movie on the Smart TV. Your light-filled double bedroom and a shower room are also at this level. The first floor of the cottage does have some restricted head height, due to its characterful, sloping ceilings. On fine days, have morning coffee, and maybe even breakfast, outside against the magnificent, scenic backdrop. Savour the far-reaching views here too as the sun sets on balmy evenings. Stretch furry legs with long walks around the wider grounds. There is private parking here for two cars.
Wander into Sherborne to potter in the independent shops, dine out in pubs serving delicious Dorset dishes, and visit its two castles. Venture 16 miles for a day out to the National Trust’s Stourhead, with its Palladian house and exquisite landscaped gardens. Head 13.5 miles to Cerne Abbas to see the famous chalk giant.
