Immerse yourselves in the incredible beauty of the Isle of Purbeck when you lay your head in this delightful stone cottage. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom haven nestles in the village of Worth Matravers, 4.5 miles from Swanage. With a courtyard garden for unwinding in the Dorset summer sunshine, it also has a wood burner to toast beside on chillier days.
Head inside the lovely Grade II-listed cottage to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/diner, with exposed woodwork and stone. Settle in here after your long walks or days on the beach to flick through the Smart TV, light the wood burner or choose a book from the shelves. At the other end of the space is a good-sized table for your hearty meals. Take a couple of steps up into the light-filled kitchen to rustle up these culinary delights. Sip a cup of coffee at the breakfast bar while you wait for your meal. From here, there is access to the family bathroom and the lower garden terrace. When you are ready to retire for the night, climb the secret, cottage-style staircase to the first floor, where your king-size and twin bedrooms are positioned. There is also a separate WC and access to a sun room, where you can savour the tranquillity inside or step out onto the upper terrace. Enjoy the fresh air in the terraced, paved garden on glorious summer days or open the stable door to the front of the cottage and look out over the shared green. There is private parking for two cars.
Follow a footpath from the garden down to picture-perfect Windspit Cove, 1 mile away. The famous Dancing Ledge is a 2.5-mile hike. Plan a day at the beach at Studland Bay, 6.5 miles away, with its stretching sands and grassy dunes.
