This elegant and chic coastal cottage in Lyme Regis is perfect for a restful and memorable break in Dorset. You and three others can spend some time away indulging in seafood, swimming in the sea and exploring the surrounding, scenic clifftop trails. In the evenings, you could dine alfresco in the garden or snuggle up in front of the wood burner in this charming, white-washed property.

Step inside and find yourself in the neutral-toned lounge with chandelier lighting and subtle floral motifs. Two cushioned sofas sit on either side of the warming wood burner and a Smart TV. Continue into the sophisticated and airy open-plan kitchen/diner with tones of green and white throughout. First, you’ll walk past the sleek, fitted ‘L’-shaped kitchen with sparkling white countertops. From here, move into the dining area to find a French-chic style, circular white dining table beneath a glass, panelled ceiling. This space also connects to the garden through glass patio doors. Upstairs is a family bathroom and two comfortable bedrooms – a king-size and a bunkbed room. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed courtyard garden with furniture. There is parking at the public car park 450 metres away.

Get to know the “Pearl of Dorset”, Lyme Regis, during your stay in the Dorset National Landscape. Wander around the town to find restaurants, the Langmoor and Lister Gardens and an aquarium. Head to the waterfront for a dip at Lyme Regis Beach or hit the Church Cliff Walk (both 0.5 miles). The cottage is beautiful, has everything you need for a small family and in a lovely location just minutes from the beach but nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle making it a peaceful escape. Will definitely return one day.

We loved our stay at Rose Cottage and made the most of the little garden to sit and have breakfast each morning. It has a well equipped kitchen and was spotlessly clean throughout. It was great to have the dishwasher and supply of dishwasher tablets. Also a nice welcome pack, thank you. We stayed as a couple, but the place (and area) would beRead more perfect to stay with children. There is a room with bunk beds and we noticed a selection of childrens DVDs and games, which is a nice touch. Lyme Regis is lovely and we particularly recommend Poco Pizza, the Old Mill bakery for fresh sourdough bread and Lyme Regis Brewery at the town mill. Holiday Cottages were friendly and responsive - a special thank you to the housekeeper, Molly, who came out to sort the TV for us, which was much appreciated. We parked at Woodmead long stay Car Park (DT7 3PG) 5-10 min walk away, but managed to unload the car quickly at the end of the lane. You do need to factor in cost of parking (100 for a week) but we felt overall the property was good value, considering the location. The location is absolutely perfect. Just off the high street with a very short walk down down to the beach or cross the road to walk through the gardens to the beach. Hide

We had a fantastic stay in Rose Cottage. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to the town, the park, the promenade and the coast path. The sun room, garden and garden room really made the lovely accommodation extra special. We spent a great day relaxing at the cottage in the summerhouse, even when it rained. Lovely being on a road withRead more no traffic on too. Hide
