Nearby days out include Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge, and Compton Abbas Airfield, all within 20 miles.

The converted, redbrick retreat forms part of a small complex of similar holiday homes. The property beautifully blends original features, such as exposed beams and tiled floors, with fabulous contemporary decor and homely touches. Step inside and straight into the grand entrance hall, with its double-height ceiling and impressive glass wall, flooding the space with natural light. Taking centre stage is a large dining table for hosting memorable mealtimes, and there is also a piano for the musical members of the group. Just off the entrance hall is a farmhouse-style kitchen with a breakfast table, offering an alternative dining area. Completing the ground floor are two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. Upstairs, on a mezzanine floor overlooking the entrance hall, is a welcoming lounge with a Smart TV, wood burner, and a collection of comfortable seating. Rounding off this level is a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, there is a shared courtyard and a lawned area with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. There’s also an array of shared children’s play equipment, including a trampoline, swings, slide, and football goals. Four-legged visitors can burn off steam in the dog exercise fields, and there’s private parking available for two cars.

Head into the historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury, to explore its independent shops and boutiques. Step back in time on a visit to the fascinating Shaftesbury Abbey Museum, or take a stroll to the top of the iconic Gold Hill to admire the chocolate-box cottages and stunning views across Blackmore Vale. There are some lovely walks to explore in and around the town, including the Shaftesbury Heritage Trail and The Great Wessex Way. We are a group of hardcore board game players and needed a place for a long weekend away. This cottage is spacious yet cozy, amazing sofas and a perfect location. Well equipped kitchen - we cooked lunch and dinner every day, and a separate fridge for our drinks! Flawless.

Brilliant location and a perfect base for exploring Dorset and the surrounding areas, Annabelle the owner was really friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself was beautiful and has so much potential but unfortunately for us fell short due to concerns around privacy (no curtains on the big glass window/door which opens out onto a shared courtyard) Read moreand feeling like it could do with a refresh (cupboards smelt foisty on opening etc.) Hide

Lovely barn conversion in a beautiful setting & very close to the gorgeous town of Shaftesbury. Very spacious, well equipped & it was great to have 3 en-suite bedrooms. Also many beautiful coastal destinations were very accessible in about an hour. We enjoyed our stay & would definitely return.
