Indulge in a truly comfortable stay at this beautifully finished cottage in coastal Dorset. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom bolthole nestles in the small village of Chideock, 2.5 miles from Bridport and 4.5 miles from West Bay. With accommodation across three storeys, it features a winter-warming wood burner and an outdoor seating area for sunny days.
Return from long walks to let yourselves into the cottage from the rear. Leave your outerwear in the boot room, where there is a WC, and wander on through to the immaculate kitchen. Unpack any provisions you have bought and set about whipping up a Dorset feast. Take a few steps down to serve up at the table in the dining room. Retire to the lounge afterwards to enjoy your coffee in comfort. Light a fire in the wood burner during the colder months, then savour its cosy glow and watch a good film together on the Smart TV. Make plans for the following day’s adventures before climbing the stairs to your lovely bedrooms. On the first floor, you will find an inviting twin, which is accessed by taking one step down, plus a family shower room. A second staircase leads up to the splendid king-size room, which has a sloping ceiling and seating area for enjoying a few pages of your book before bed. Unwind out on the bench with a cup of tea on fine mornings. There is off-road parking for two cars.
Stroll just 1 mile from the cottage to the beach at Seatown. While you are here, pick up the scenic South West Coast Path and head out in either direction. Amble another mile to the National Trust’s Golden Cap, where you can enjoy panoramic views along the Jurassic Coast and explore more than 2,000 acres of woods and meadowland.
