This luxurious, Grade II-listed holiday home provides exceptional accommodation for friends and families seeking a relaxing break on the Dorset coast. The property is in the picturesque country town of Beaminster, which has a good range of eateries and local shops. You’ll be just 8 miles from the spectacular Jurassic Coast, and will have easy access to some of Dorset’s finest beaches, such as West Bay and Eype. In the evenings, relax in front of the wood burner or sip a sundowner in the leafy garden.

The 17th-century property is bursting with period features, including original fireplaces, mullion windows, and exposed beams. The cosy lounge, with antique furniture and an inglenook fireplace, is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, warming your toes by the wood burner and watching a film on the Smart TV. Alternatively, retire to the light-filled garden room with a glass of wine. The elegant dining room is a delightful place to come together for evening meals, with views across the pretty garden. Just off the dining room is a study, should you need to catch up on emails whilst away. A step up leads from the dining room to the kitchen, which is equipped with an AGA and everything you need to cater for the group. A handy utility room completes the ground floor. The three exquisite bedrooms are upstairs, one of which has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath. A gorgeous shower room rounds off the first floor. Outside, the enclosed, cottage-style garden is a real sanctuary, with colourful blossoms, delicate foliage, and a choice of seating areas for al fresco dining (accessed via a few steps).

Beaminster is home to many historic buildings, including Mapperton House and Gardens (2 miles). Pack a picnic and take a stroll around the manor’s colourful valley garden, admiring the beautiful views of the surrounding hills and woodland. For a longer walk, join the Brit Valley Way, which starts just 4 miles away, and follow the route along the river all the way to West Bay on the coast. The vibrant market town of Bridport (6 miles) makes a lovely day out and, with its plethora of quirky boutiques and antique stores, it’s a great place to pick up a little souvenir from your trip.

Lovely cottage, very cosy and super well equipped with a top quality finish in a historic building. Very handy for all the local amenities. Beaminster is a lovely little town. Off road parking a big bonus in what can be quite a busy location.

The cottage has been sympathetically updated whilst retaining some beautiful old features. Whilst parts of the interior can appear dark due to small windows and thick walls, this doesn't detract from the homely feel. I stayed here with adult family for a celebration. There was plenty of room for us all and lots of room for storage. The only downsidRead moree is that North Street is busy so families with small children need to be aware of the traffic and the possibility of disturbing sleeping children. Hide

A character cottage in a lovely location on the edge of a village which has a few small shops and a couple of restaurants and a couple of pubs. Plenty to see in the local area and lovely walks on the doorstep. The cottage is very well equipped and the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard.
