Enjoy a blissful escape to the country in this idyllic shepherd’s hut, set amid rolling countryside in the Marshwood Vale. Located next to the owner’s property, this romantic retreat sits in an elevated location with sublime views from the terrace and its own private hot tub, so you can relax together beneath starry skies – just the two of you.

Positioned to make the most of the views, this charming bolthole is accessed via stepping stones, and is surprisingly spacious inside. Set out in a studio style, the main room has a wood burner to keep you cosy whatever the weather, and a compact kitchen that’s equipped for preparing simple meals at home. Cosy up on the double bed to watch a film together, before enjoying a restful night’s sleep. There’s a convenient shower room at the end of the hut, while the outside space adds a wow factor with a lovely terrace featuring a bistro table and chair, and a wonderful private hot tub too.

A haven for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers, there are numerous beautiful trails from your accommodation with Golden Cap, Colmer’s Hill (both 5 miles) and the South West Coast Path all within easy reach. Head south to explore the dramatic coastal scenery of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, with Charmouth Beach (5.5 miles) a popular spot to go fossil hunting. The scenic beaches and harbour of Lyme Regis are just 8 miles away, or you can visit the market town of Bridport and the adjoining coastal resort of West Bay (5.5 and 7.5 miles respectively).

The shepherd hut is 100 metres from the farmhouse B&B in its own hedged space. Just the other side of the hedge, about 10 metres from the hut, there's an 'honesty' farm shop selling high quality meats. Farm shop customers can see the shepherd hut's outdoor seating area through the hedge gateway. When we arrived we were asked to move our car so vehiRead morecles could turn around in the little car park. The hut is approached by a mile or so of single track roads and has glorious views over rolling countryside. Hide
